Nats Magazine Editors 1, Logic 0

Saw this poster for the Nationals Magazine walking around the stadium Friday:

Before mysteriously appearing on the disabled list with a case of "suck", here were Jason "Game Changer" Marquis' season totals:
  • Three games started
  • Three games lost
  • A whopping 8.1 innings pitched
  • 18 hits allowed
  • 19 ERs allowed
That all adds up to a tidy 20.52 ERA, 2.88 WHIP and .439 BAA.

"Sidelined with a case of 'suck'". Okay, Teej, you got me with that one. Uncle.

Is anyone watching the Mavs-Spurs series with any interest. I caught game four and the TNT staff were excited about the "playoff game intensity". This game didn't even resemble basketball to me. It transformed into "How much control can the refs maintain over this game." Seems like they had to whistle everything or someone was going to get suplexed.

technically, those statistics are game changing.

Dave, you are correct. If your team's goal is to lose the game by the third inning, than Jason Marquis is change you can believe in.

You could make an argument that the Nationals team goal is to lose games by the 3rd inning. In fact, it would be rather easy to prove.

The Nats are 10-9, good for second place and a game and a half back in the NL East at this early juncture. That's a very best case scenario right there.

And then you see the Baltimore Orioles. Heh heh.

I thought that 2nd half of the Mavs-Spurs game was awesome.

i particularly liked najera's 'fast break'-style goon turn

Former Nat Mike Bacsik was not a fan of Najera's heel turn:

Halak is a brick wall.

Teejay - do you feel like you have a new perspective on this Caps broadcast after seeing "Behind the Lens"?

T.J. said...

I really do...much like I have a muuuuch better grasp of International Gladiators now.

From the UK...WOLF!

I've never seen anything like that "diving" call against Montreal.

The German gladiator wearing the half-shirt was badass.

Some good stuff in here.

Caps can't find a Halak-smith.

that's so awful it made me laugh

rob said...

caps are gonna fuck this up, aren't they?

Jerry said...

3 diving calls is absurd.

T.J. said...

Good lord man. They're never gonna score.

Looks like the dream is over for Buffalo. I'm going to need a new team to support.

Shlara said...

WTF is wrong with the Caps?? They are imploding. I can't handle this.

Shlara said...

Dammit.
And its crazy loud in there...

room on the b-wagon, jerry

meanwhile, nobody wants to play defense in nashville - 4-3 hawks after one period.

really enjoying the run prevention era in boston. someone shoulda told josh beckett about the new strategy.

Boudreau looks and sounds defeated in the post-game press conference. This is not a good sign for Game 7. The fact that they couldn't score with the 5 on 3 power play is also not good.

But I still believe...

Nats went old school last night, losing on a walk off walk.

Clarence said...

Yeah -- those of you who were bemoaning the Nats' suckiness in the 10-9 start had better heed the wisdom of Randy Bachman and Fred Turner.

And Jerry Overdrive.

Jerry Overdrive. AWL.
