Run It Back

Final day of the best weekend of the year, so we'll celebrate simply: great tune by a great band and fun and games in the comments.

dominic james playing today for marquette. hmmmmmm.

Swint is pissed he can't bet on that game because of the James news.

T.J. said...

There is a heated "silo" vs "waterball" debate occurring in the car.

rob said...

it's really not that difficult a concept.

T.J. said...

Swint just had a huge run coming over the Del Mem Br...Teejay 3, Swint 3, Dennis 1

And I love this new Flo Rida joint.

T.J. said...

Jackson and Onuaku need to play huge today.

rob said...

boredom sets in during the road trip - teejay officially changes his gtb name.

The TR/TJ thing was just too much.

TJ's love for Flo Rida flummoxes me...

if cuse could guard the big white foreign kid, this game would be over. shouldn't rautins be able to use some kind of euro mind trick?

rob said...

just feels like arizona state has no chance here.

I don't want Mark to have another hissy fit, but I'm pretty fired up for Siena/Louisville.

Whitney said...

Teejay, how was Atlantic City? Were you able to grab the guys you wanted?

Mark said...

When did I have a hissy fit?

I'm sorry that I don't appreciate the commercial crap that passes for hip-hop these days, Teej.

The Seacrest Top 40 countdown had a lot of that type stuff.

Whit, I'm too braindead to say much more than AC was awesome once again.

And I drafted Fatty Sabathia.

This battle of the fat point guards is one hell of a game so far...with both o fthe overweight lovers playing quite well

rob said...

agreed - this is a blast to watch

pitt's gonna owe sam young if they pull this out.

rob said...

'you said pudgy!'. siiiick pass.

rob said...

so, cbs. i care a lot more about the pitt game than i do the cleveland state game. can we switch back?

rob said...

wow, that was easy. now, can i have $500,000? i'm not greedy.

rob said...

pitt seems to have forgotten how to play basketball.

Shlara said...

TJ--I think Gus loves Siena as much as you do.

rob said...

too much louisville

rob said...

scrappy saints trying to prove me wrong. hope i am.

T.J. said...

Hasbrouck just gonna shoot his way out of it

T.J. said...

Tim Floyd, good coach or corrupt west coast calipari?

T.J. said...

Um, can we please cut back to the Siena game please?

rob said...

rough endgame for marquette.

Whitney said...

That's a long ride home for the kid that stepped on the end-line on the throw-in.

Longer than TJ's ride home from AC. Longer than AC's ride with OJ.

T.J. said...

Hate to kick a city when it comes to sports issues, but that kid just happens to be from Buffalo.

if you had chalk in your ncaa pool, go to the head of the class. only two of the sweet sixteen participants were not in the top 16 original seeds - purdue and arizona. bad news for fans of the underdog, but on the flip side, we're set up for some serious ball next weekend.

rob said...

was just flipping through the channels and landed on espn to hear jon miller's voice. welcome, old friend. i've missed you.

rob said...

steve phillips' and then joe morgan's rang out shortly thereafter. my reaction was not quite the same.

Mark said...

I agree Rob. A pretty mundane first weekend of the tourney as far as upsets go. However, there were a slew of closely contested and entertaining games and there are some great matchups on the horizon next weekend (Plus, I'm in decent position in my main pool). Consider me sufficiently pumped.

Whitney said...

It's annoying to me. In my biggest money pool, I'm tied for second place. The leader has Pitt over Louisville in the final, just like me. He also has exactly two seeds that aren't 1-4 in his sweet 16 -- both 5-seeds. His Final 4? All 1-seeds. Yes, by being boring and conservative, he's winning.

But it's far from over.

T.J. said...

Let's just say I'm dragging a tad bit at the office today...

rob said...

unless you really did something stupid, like take wake into the final four (and my marquette over maryland in the sweet sixteen is close to qualifying), you should be in pretty good shape in most pools. i'm pretty far down the table in my pool, but i'm the only one in the pool to take oklahoma to win. i gambled on kansas into the final four, as well.

T.J. said...

So, having Wake play Cuse in the Final is not gonna help me?

rob said...

you're still in the running for the 2010 money.

rob said...

what's to be gained by having gilbert arenas play the last 10 games of this dismal season? prove that he can play so they can trade him? failing that, this idea stinks for the wiz.

Shlara said...

They're trying to get season ticket holders to renew...we got invoices a few weeks ago. They've also been running "thank you fans, we love you" clips on the jumbotron during games.

T.J. said...

Jody Meeks, really really good.

I just had to say the word "rural" on the phone, twice in fact, and each time I sounded like a complete idiot. "Rural" is much tougher to say than I thought.
