Eazy like Sunday morning

Woke up quick at about noon
Just thought that I had to turn on CBS soon
I gotta get drunk before the day begin
Before Jay Bilas starts fellating Louisville's wings...

  2. i'm legitimately bummed to see wily mo pena released by the nats. so much raw talent and by all accounts a sweet kid - just can't seem to get it all together. i've never seen anyone hit a ball as hard as a homer he hit for the sox in kansas city. he's still young. hope he figures it out.

  3. How many chances does a guy like Lena get though Rob? At some point, raw talent and being a "good kid" is just not enough if the on-field results don't consistently improve.

  4. oh, i agree. not saying he's gonna get another chance, just bummed out that he never got there.

  5. random questions: does anyone think michigan state has a chance against louisville? is anyone with a soul rooting for carolina? can austin johnson play with ty lawson? do you think lawson makes hansbrough pay whenever they go out together as compensation for hogging all the player of the year glory?

  6. I think Michigan St. has a shot. Izzo's a damn fine coach and the Spartans start two pgs (Kalin Lucas and Az look-a-like Travis Walton). Multiple high-level ballhandlers against a press can be a huge advantage. Also, Louisville's guards are pretty average and are due for a a stinker of a game. But yeah, MSU's probably gonna have to play a perfect game.

Nobody's rooting for Carolina, outside of North Carolina. Austin Johnson's length might bother Lawson but there's no way he can consistently stay in front of him.

  7. One more thing on Lawson: Try and count the number of attacking dribbles he makes with his left hand today. I bet you end up under 10.

Its got to be a testament to his quickness that he uses his left hand as infrequently as he does and can still be so effective as a pg. Ever since I noticed his lack of a left, its driven me crazy. I assume opposing coaches have noticed this and just can't do anything about it. At least I hope so because it fucking drives me crazy and Lawson's (purported) super human quickness is the only logical reason I can think of to justify opposing defenses' inability push him left constantly.

If it wasn't for Sam Young, Lawson uses his left hand less than high level player in the tourney.

  8. that's the kind of quality analysis you'll only find at g:tb.

i'm only slightly kidding. guaran-fucking-tee that item does not get noted on the broadcast today.

  9. Um, what did Len Elmore just say?

  10. Izzo just pulled the One Shining Moment card? Really?

  12. So Florida was expected to "destroy" Michigan St. when they met in the Finals in 2000?

Seems like some revisionist history at work there by the Spartans. If memory serves, MSU was a senior laden #1 overall seed and Florida was a 5 seed that barely escaped being upset by Butler in the 1st round. Whatever you say though Spartans...I guess winning a National Title wasn't enough.

  13. i recognize my powers of observation aren't as keen as they used to be, but has the ncaa always used standardized floor designs at the regional level? first time i've noticed it.

  14. adding an extra finger doesn't make it look any less like 'loser', louisville fan.

  15. louisville's not making anything, and they seem really lackadaisical on the offensive end.

  16. Sparty's doing exactly what they want offensively. Taking care of the ball, moving it quickly with crisp, precise passes, slowing the pace and keeping the game a mostly halfcourt affair.

  17. So there's a new MMA based movie coming out entitled "Fighting"? That, my friends, is some Grade A creativity at work right there...

  18. well I'm eazy e I got bitches galore. You might have a lot of bitches but I got much more.

  19. I thought Greg was "G Money", oh well.

In other news, Michigan's State's toughness and halfcourt defense have had a much bigger impact on this game that Louisville's press and athleticism.

  20. i did not see this coming. my career as a hoops prognosticator is in serious peril. my reverse jinx prospects, however...

  21. In the last month or so, many in the national media have seemingly fallen in love with Terrence Williams and his "point forward" game. Believe me, there's a lot to love about Williams' game but its disturbing how rarely he gets into the lane off the dribble, considering his size, athleticism and ball handling ability.

  22. When in doubt, listen to me Roberto. I thought you'd have figured this out by now.

    ReplyDelete
  23. NO, NO! Florida was NOT supposed to destroy Michigan St. in 2000. Just stop it now, Gus.

  24. wait.....for some people to leave. I got another trick up my sleeve. Step with pep to the back of the house, look in, all the lights are out. Check the door and it's locked so easily made my way to the window. Lift it up slow, cuz it takes timing.

  25. For some irrational reason I'm tired of hearing how great Izzo is. But he really is pretty great.

  26. Samardo Samuels' inability to box out Goran and the other Spartan bigs has killed Lville today. He really needs to work on his defense.

  27. And Willy Mo Pena hits a baseball about as hard as is humanly possible.

  28. I don't think I'll be more excited for any game in this tourney than I am for this UNC-OK game. Blake's nuts to be in Psycho T's face in about 30 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You would like to see one man's nuts on another man's face, wouldn't you.

  30. it's like that saying, "one man's junk........"

  31. Greg's got all his pitches working today...

  32. Oh good lord...Baby Curry is going to Duke.

  33. Tiger!

Nice 20 foot tap-in for the bird, the tourney and his 66th win. In-cre-a-ble.

  34. are you effing kidding? unreal is right.

to say the sooners were disappointing is mildly understating the point.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Seth Greenberg needs to be called on the carpet for missing out on both the Curry kids.

For the record, I think Baby Curry is just another player at Duke. Coach K needs to find a way to tap back into the pipeline of elite players (even if its just a couple every few years, ala Boozer & Williams or Avery & Brand) if he's going to get Duke back to where it once was.
