This is what happens when I'm left in control...

Actually, thats not totally true. If I had known that I was being left in control today then I would've worked up 1,500 or so words on the the NBA Playoffs or the NFL Draft or maybe just the pleasures of a stiff drink, a fresh bag and a good album. Sadly, none of this is the case. I just returned home and saw TJ's email plea for a new post (as well as Whitney's and Rob's replies where they bitched out like the two old, broken down skirts we all know they are). Luckily for them, and you, I'm here to get the job done. Even if that means its getting done sloppily and with little inspiration. So...ummm...yeah, enjoy one of my favorite songs (the video's kind of fresh too) by one of my favorite artists, RJD2, and try not to kill yourself on a Monday where you surely are hating your job.

Evidently what happens when I'm lef tin charge is nobody comes to G:TB (sigh). Well, hopefully Bo Pelini kicks TJ's drunken ass tonight so we can have some excitement around here...

I had my nights wrong - tomorrow night I harass Bo. Tonight, I sit in my room watching baseball and playoff hoops because I work the exhibit hall from 7:30am to 7pm tomorrow. That my friends is fucking brutal. However, it's not as brutal as the Mets OF defense.

Before Whit attacks me, let me clarify that - the Mets corner OF defense is brutal. Beltran is awesome.

Teej - You didn't miss much watching the Yanks' first 8 innings. They fell behind 4-0.

But in the top of the 9th, they've turned a double and two singles into a 4-1 game. Two men on and Jorge up at the plate to pinch-hit, representing the tying run.

Ugh. Jorge just hit the slowest double-play ground ball in the history of rolling balls. I think Doug McDaniel could beat Jorge in a foot-race.

Jorge literally trotted down the line. David Cone had to awkwardly cover for Jorge, when the truth was that he didn't run hard at all.

No matter because they just lost 4-2. I stand by my prediction that the Yanks will be an enormous bust this year. Joe Girardi will be a bench coach in Chicago in 2010.

I know that Ginobili is great, but Dallas over San Antonio would be huge, and would pave the way for Denver to make it to the conference finals. That means lots more of Chris Anderson happily flapping his tattooed wings like the cokehead retard he is.

5 of the 8 first-round match-ups could result in the higher seeded teams being eliminated. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that's never happened.

Cleveland and the Lakers might cruise into an awesome finals match-up.

What's the etiquette rule on mocking Nene for having only one ball?

Mock away, TR, mock away.

And yeah, Dallas over the Spurs is still huge (and, imo, the beginning of the end of this Spurs era if they don't make som substantial changes soon...Duncan and Ginobili have a TON of miles on them).

I don't really believe in Denver but I they're entertaining as all hell, so the more we get of them, the better. As for Birdman, well, I know a good deal of cokehead retards and none of them do shit even remotely as cool as him so, I say, flap those wings you white trash hero you.

Look at you, finally able to contribute to (virtual) society again.

So we can expect the recap soon?

also, the hornets' arena is a singularly ugly building. it's as if someone had a mess of light blue-green bathroom tiles laying around and thought it'd be neat to slap them up on a basketball arena. the fact that it's hard beside the almost-as-hideous superdome is a bit of a blight on an otherwise highly visually entertaining city.

the recap may take a day or so. suffice it for now to say that it was awesome beyond my expectations.
