Last Night's Game

Nicely summarized in this short Family Guy clip. Just picture Stewie in Carolina blue.

funny, that's exactly how feinstein led his game story. that game sucked in a highly sucky way.

meatstick rob dibble thinks the nats will win 90 games. i wish i could bet on that.

So it's not so much that CC was shelled, had a WHIP of 3.00 and didn't strike anybody out. It's that the cameras caught him putting a heating pad around his mighty rib cage between innings, the Yankee announcers had no idea why, and watched him continue to trot out to get beaten up.

Joe Girardi absolutely loves to rid his starters when they don't have it. He left Pettite in a few times last year to get beaten to a pulp. If your starter doesn't have it, appears hurt, and the team has an off-day the next day, and it's April, maybe you want to yank him early Joe.

There was not a good game on television last night. not one.

I'm telling you, this Yankees lineup won't be nearly as powerful as people predict. Wait til Matsui and Posada run out of gas in June...

The over/under on Nats wins is set solidly at 69. I'll take the under.

Strong start for the Nats pitching staff yesterday, from Lannon to Tavarez to Ledezma to some kid, allowing 12 runs on 12 hits (four were homers).

TR, I wouldn't worry too much -- The Orioles have the best Opening Day record over the past 50 years or so, and it's almost uncanny. They are 33-15 over their last 48 Opening Days, and the next best record isn't even close. Chalk yesterday up to the perpetuation of a bizarre trend.

And then... the O's have to play 161 other games, and for the last decade+, they've sucked badly at that part. You can be sure the Yankees will make quick work of them in the next two games and assuage your fears.

Also, on the Baltimore Sun home page today, 51.6% of voters pick the Orioles to win the AL East.

My favorite part is the "(Results not scientific)" disclaimer; "scientific" could be swapped out for a number of more emphatic words.

I think TR only has himself to blame for taunting the O's lineup just before the opening pitch...

And I personally loved the championship game...coasted my way to $500 in the company pool. I would however offer up a warning not to walk within 6-9 feet of me over the next week or so. A lightning bolt is surely headed my way for cheering on the girly blue boys...
