Long Distance Dedication

Here's hoping you enjoy this when you wake up somewhere strange tomorrow morning:

You're an odd duck robert.

I hate you Kyle Farnsworth.

T.J. said...

OK, that was pretyy good work Mr. Farnsworth. I'll admit it.

Tough night for the hometown nine at Nationals Park.

And Uggla just made it a lot worse.

It is appalling how few people came to a Sat night game at a brand new ballpark.

What's appalling is that I had to go get drunk by myself at Chili's outside of Tallahassee last night. Good God, this weekend won't end.

T.J. said...

I've been to Tallahassee once, and yep, it sucks bad.

The Celtics might want to figure out how to win a road playoff game.

How do I say this nicely - Juan Marichal, though a Hall of Famer on the field, is in no way equipped to be a guest panelist on SportsCenter.

Jameer Nelson should just keep his mouth shut:

"We're going to make some adjustments and we're going to win this game," Nelson said after Orlando's 90-89 loss on Saturday. "I'm not being arrogant or cocky or anything like that. I think [Saturday] we let it slip out of our hands. Game 2 we let it slip out of our hands. We're going to win this game in Detroit."

He should keep his mouth shut but he's right about letting some opportunities slip away. I'm guessing one of those "adjustments" would be to make you FTs in the final minute. It was nice to see Turkoglu finally step up yesterday but vexing to see Dooling loose his head yet again and, of course, to see the Pistons win one in Orlando. I never thought the Magic would win this series but going back to Detroit tied at 2 would've been a good sign for the future.

And yes TJ, Tallahassee sucks. Even more so when you're there for a family event and there's nobody within 15 years of you on either side to drink and/or hang around with. Fortunately, I'm home again. Who wants to get drunk and watch women's softball?

Kudos to the USA Network for showing the Indiana Jones' franchise all weekend long and reminding me how awesome it is (yes, even Temple of Doom). I eagerly await installment 4.

I'm in no way a Laker fan, but should Turiaf have just been tossed?

T.J. said...

That was a pretty sweet play to end the half...

Utah trying hard to give this one away...nice work Mehmet.

T.J. said...

Derek Fischer...oh my.

T.J. said...

Wow...this is quite absurd. It was 100-88 Utah with 3 minutes to play.

T.J. said...

This game is fucking awesome.

Lamar!

T.J. said...

Pau how about not being a pussy and putting that right back up, eh?

T.J. said...

Lamar Fucking Odom...go figure.

T.J. said...

Pau you douche...

T.J. said...

Kobe you're killing your team right now.

Game over kids.

Okay, a few things:

- Since I was stuck in Tallahassee all weekend I too took in quite a bit of the Indiana Jones trilogy and was also reminded how stellar it was/is. Im looking forward to the 4th installment as well. Truly great "popcorn" movies.

- I missed much of the early part of the Laker-Jazz game, what exactly was physically wrong with Mr. Bryant?

-I enjoy TJ trying to make Derek Fisher one of Bobby's relatives

-Lamar was huge late in regulation, which you don't see often

- Pau's missed dunk ended up being a huge play in OT

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to buy some beer and snacks with this dead girl's gas card.

T.J. said...

I believe Kobe has a back injury, and if it's serious, they're screwed.

And Derek is much better at checkers than chess as it turns out.

Another note - Pau Gasol is Charmin soft. I guess I never noticed it because I rarely saw him play in Memphis, but he makes Channing Frye look like Kimbo Slice.

Mark said...

You're right on Gasol. Thats always been the knock. His skills are great for the triangle but he wants no part of banging down low.

So Channing Frye is working for a porn company now? Man, it must be something in the water in Portland...

T.J. said...

Wow how utterly terrible does that new Sandler movie look?

Mark said...

Pretty, pretty bad. However, the split screen commercial that features Baron Davis is fairly amusing.

T.J. said...

Yes, it is sort of moderately amusing...which means it is 100 times funnier than the film itself.
