Geoff and I decided to take the advice of those annoying hipsters t-shirts and we have resolved to stop bitching and to start a revolution. GET INVOLVED...

  3. Mark, I believe you have a lot of free time what with your flexible "work" schedule and all, so get on that.

  4. Hire a driver you dummy:

DENVER (AP) -- Denver Nuggets All-Star Carmelo Anthony has been ticketed for speeding, three weeks after he was cited on a charge of driving under the influence.

Police say Anthony was pulled over Saturday for driving 60 mph in a 45-mph zone.

  5. I don't hate Bayless because I don't watch any of those dumb shows.

If you all hate him so much, why not change the channel? It's not like you NEED to watch him to stay up to date with the sports world.

There's all kinds of stuff on the telly, gents.

  6. It's fun to hate Timmy...it's fun to hate.

  7. raises hand.

i, um, agree with timmy. i haven't heard skip bayless talk in years.

  8. I guess I'm questioning the hate because I have such a generally pleasant and upbeat disposition.

It's been increasingly easier for me over the last ten years to tune out all the ancillary sports crap and focus solely on the games. I had a multi-year sabbatical from WFAN radio earlier in the aughts that was quite refreshing.

  9. I hate to admit it, but the guy continues to win me over:

Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon, appearing as a guest on FSN's "Best Damn Sports Show Period," on how he passes time in the bullpen: "Last night in the bullpen, me and Manny Delcarmen drew a craps table in the sand and played a little craps."

  11. Umm, yeah, so I'm not the smartest guy around. Nevertheless, the petition has been signed by yours truly.

  12. I am with Rhyme-o. Except in one case, where even flipping through channels and experiencing five seconds of exposure causes instinctive fist clenching. Jim Rome.

Is it like math, where my negativity about his rampant negativity results in a positive? Where my extreme prejudice against his rare form of arrogance despite pudliness and his definitive douchebaggery is actually a bad in the name of good? I'll choose to believe that.

  13. Whitney hates Jim Rome more than I hate Oprah. And that's saying a lot.

  15. Whoa...comment crossover confusion...this was the comment from Whit I was replying to:

"Rob and I went to a wedding in the mid-90's where Dirty Dancing was filmed (Mountain Lake, VA). Not only did the DJ open the reception with "I've Had the Time of My Life" (after the couple's first dance), not only did he close the reception with it, but he aslo played it two other times during the event. Spectacular.

But I'm not sure he played the Swayze song... sad."

  16. Rob might be right. I wasn't built to be capable of much hate, and I'm grateful, but any list of my intense dislikes starts with those two entities. And inconsiderate people. And cruelty towards children. Oh, and boy bands and mushrooms and Coors Light.

  17. I'm perfectly capable of changing the channel and ignoring Bayless...but I find much more enjoyment in internet shennanigans at this man's expense.

  18. Hey Farva what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Whatever goofy shit they put on the mozzarella sticks, I think I'll order mine plain.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ...what, that it wasn't built in a day?

    ReplyDelete
  23. My lame joke break the interweb?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jim Rome better than at least 50% of the sports radio that's on in a day here in DC. I don't think that's even debatable.

    ReplyDelete
  25. There's Jerry pulling a Skip Bayless on the subject of Jim Rome...(grabs gun)...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jerry's caveman-speak "Jim Rome better" made our point more effectively than we could have. Well put.
