Dedicated to the premise that life would be better if we all took ourselves a little less seriously.
Adam Ant wrote and performed a song that was decidedly pro-stripping. It was called "Strip." You may be adamant, but you're no Adam Ant.
I bet Adam Ant had his share of ladies in his early 80's heyday. Goody goody two shoes, my ass...
No doubt about that. Early days of Adam & the Ants he was getting some of the fringe girls, probably predominantly British. By the time "Goody Two Shoes" put him on every map, he was an international playboy. Good times. These days... not quite as good. He went a bid mad and was locked up for a time. And his big comeback album was 13 years ago. It's a hard fall for the massive stars when they age and fall out of relevance. I do not look forward to that period of my life.
The Wizards are 1-0 this season when I tune in and watch the game, 0-5 when I don't. That pressure's going to cramp my schedule a tad.
I show up at G:TB and mock the Bengals, presto, win.I taunt the Wiz, and whaddya know, win.Would our Skins readership like me to take the club to task so you can romp Dallas?
Rob, I love that the Leitch piece was followed by an add for American Girl dolls. Nothing like pondering one's comfort level in a strip club and then immediately turning your attention to your young daughters' biggest wishes from Santa.
Coincidence that Rob's wife pops by when he's proclaiming his distaste for gentlemen's clubs? Or perhaps was it a case of "hey, honey, go read how much I don't like strip joints - I wrote it on the blog!"Officially, Rob also thinks X-rated films are plotless, stupid, and gross. And Penthouse is degrading to women. Oh, and the "Alyssa Milano naked" that you saw in the computer's Google search history was actually his typo; he meant to type "Alyssa Milano raked" in hopes of reading some coverage of "Landscaping with the Stars," a televised charity event put on by Joey Lawrence, Fred Savage, Mindy Cohn, and others (including Ms. Milano) in which TV wash-ups, has-beens, and retreads do basic yardwork for underprivileged homeowners in Beverly Hills.
I'd watch that show.
For the record, on a scale of 1 to 10, my excitement level for tonight's Jets-Pats game is 137. This could be the franchise's biggest win in quite some time. For those of you who dismissed them after they got dismantled by the Chargers in Week 3, I think you should watch them with fresh eyes. The defense, led by Kris Jenkins, is playing the run very well. The offense is more well-rounded than they've been in quite a while. Rookie TE Dustin Keller has coming-out party last week, Jones and Washington are a good 1-2 punch out of the backfield, and Favre (thankfully) shouldn't need to play gunslinger for them to win.
The Jets have made the leap to beating the teams they should beat (the loss to the Raiders notwithstanding). They even took down Buffalo, who isn't lousy. But it's another leap to knocking off the Patriots -- who now have their legs underneath them again after the Brady loss -- in New England on nat'l TV. It wouldn't qualify as shocking if they won, but I'm still thinking the Pats take this one.
I can't argue with you Whit, but the Pats will be w/o Adalius Thomas, a huge loss. Also, this will be Cassel's first big time game in foul weather. The Pats have done the same as the Jets this year. They've beaten mostly bad teams (KC, Jets, SF, Denver, St. Louis, Buffalo) and lost to mostly good teams (Miami, SD, Indy). The game is more even than you think. Playing at New England will be a challenge, but one that NY should be able to handle. Either way, this should be a tight game. And if you think that Kerry Collins will not play in a Super Bowl this year, the AFC is wide open. Over/under on Johnny Black on the rocks consumption in the Rezvan household is currently set at 2.5.
Also, this game isn't on nat'l tv, its on the NFL network which lots and lots of people don't get. Your point is well taken though, Whit.
Whit, I routinely pop by, just rarely comment. The antics of you boys amuse me. :) Will Rob get jammed for encouraging me to read G:TB (and if so, can I watch)?
what the fuck?
Yes...that's just what the ancient Hebrews thought.
This is what you get for such a self serving post, tiny. Oooh, look at me, I'm Rob and I'm awkward, short and don't really enjoy strippers.
NE is down to their #4 running back, who appears to be the love child of Jarvis Green and Ellis Hobbs. Randy Moss may be hurt too.Apparently the NY media are making this out to be the make-or-break game for Mangini's career, while the Boston media aren't too worried about things if the Pats lose. I also think Cassel is due for a stinker. The Jets will win tonight.
Green-Ellis isn't that bad. He was a solid back in the SEC and is at least as dangerous a between the tackles runner as Sammy Morris, more so imo.
BJG-E has played well, but he couldn't move ahead of Maroney, Morris, or Jordan on the depth chart, and none of those three guys are particularly outstanding. I don't think he's a homerun threat like Maroney, that he's as physical as Morris, or that he can catch like Jordan. Throw in Moss' sprained foot, Cassel's al dente noodle arm (as opposed to Pennington's sopping wet noodle arm), and a general sense of nonchalance about the game and you have the makings for a Jets win.
Wasn't Green-Ellis a midseason signing? I thought they picked him up after some of the other backs were injured. And for the record, I'd rather have him than Maroney at this point who has proven himself to be both injury prone and a soft runner.
The worst case scenario for the Jets is if Wilfork, Seymour and the rest of the D-line stuff the run. Schottenheimer will be forced to call passing plays, Favre will be forced to "make" plays, interceptions galore will ensue and I will cry into my scotches. Mark's point about TV coverage is a good one, but I am now a Comcast guy paying $7 per month for the NFL Network, the Big 10 network, NHL TV and Gol TV. Since I now get the NFL Network, I assume the whole world does. I think Collinsworth and Bob Pappas are doing the game tonight. Pappas is a tremendous play-by-play guy who does Giants games on the radio. They will be great if they have any semblance of chemistry.
I agree. Maroney is apparently Gaelic for vagina. Just as Doyle is Gaelic for douche.
this comment strand is really bizarre-- i think samantha should be required to chime in on every post. in fact, if she doesn't, i will for her . . .
(actually it's samantha, i'm just using dave's computer real quick to post a comment while he puts his pants back on)the only thing tinier than my husband is his penis.
dave, i'll refer your memory to a certain naked pool match (it's a long story - or, in this case, not so long) and ask you to recall which of us was deemed to have the smallest penis ever seen. hint: it wasn't me.
i had just been out peeing in the cold! shrinkage! don't women know about shrinkage!
