We Got Next

Word on the street is that newly elected President Barack Obama plans to replace the fabled (if somewhat anachronistic) White House bowling alley with a basketball court, in keeping with longstanding Presidential prerogative.

Until now, my pickup hoops dream has been to get invited to Cal Ripken's house to play at his legendary gym, complete with full scoreboard and NBA team uniforms. I'm reconsidering now, though - it'd be more than a little cool to take POTUS off the dribble.

Thoughts, boys and girls? What's your fantasy run?

the fact that obama always plays ball in long pants bothers me a little.

And he tucks his shirt in. And his sneakers are boring. But he is a 40-some-odd-year-old guy, so maybe we should cut him some slack.

Playing Obama would be cool, but there's a definite downside. Sure, he's an alright player but his brother-in-law was a 2 time Ivy League POY and Reggie Love (from Duke) is his advisor. You just know those two are on his team most of the time (Love all the time) so you're going to end up getting crushed and having him talk shit to you.

The brother-in-law is Oregon State's coach, yes? Apparently Andy Katz played pick-up with Obama on Election Day because of some previous story he did on the bro-in-law.

So, if you're a ranked team playing on Thursday night, just expect to lose?

I did?

Yes, you did. And if you're playing another ranked team...you may not lose. Its complicated but just refer to Utah's sleep inducing win over TCU last night whenever you get confused.
