Happy Gay NFL Sunday

The irony of the choice of a cover of Morrissey's Every Day is Like Sunday as part of the NFL's current advertising campaign is not lost on G:TB. Because what football fan doesn't love songs about the melancholy of a seaside town in winter penned by famously, fabulously morose gay sex symbols?

to add to mark's comment in the picks thread, the skins cut locker room standout, community leader, and improving special teams contributor leigh torrance to make room for hall. wonderful.

I don't like the Hall signing generally. That said, the price tag was right, and Leigh Torrence can almost be single-handedly blamed for the Skins lost to STL...and he played a major role in allowing both TD drives againts Pittsburgh. He was by al accounts a good guy...but it aint showfriends, its showbusiness.

Look Geoff, already talking like an LA guy two days into his visit. i bet he's wearing an Ed Hardy t-shirt right now too.

Mark said...

No, TJ. You can't...

Btw, the beginning of my first comment should have read "Look at Geoff" but I'm so involved in this Jags-Lions game that I couldn't concentrate.

I've reconfirmed something in two days: I still hate LA.

while i see your point, geoff, and generally agree with it (i do root for the satan-led alabama crimson tide, after all, i have the luxury of preferring that my rooting interests be staffed with guys i actually like. like casey rabach, that scamp.

Is there a rapper by the name of Young Jeezy? If so, I'm pretty sure he and his *ahem* fellas were the ones just blocking the entire driveway to my hotel.

Greg, I'm at the Simpsons ride...it's your Valhalla.

I was at the Jets-Rams game today. The final score wasn't indicative of how much the Jets outplayed them. Their punter didn't do anything but hold for figgies and extra points until midway through the third quarter. Jay Feeley channeled his inner Janikowski and boomed four figgies in the first half, including three longer than 45 yards in the swirling Rutherford winds. Fans were legitimately tired of high-fiving by the time they went up 30-0 in the second quarter. Unbelievable.

I've now seen the Jets go up 34-0 and 40-0 at two of their five home games. God bless the schedule to date, although back-to-back road games against New England and Tennessee will be a real test of this squad.

Yes TJ, there is. I imagine Jeezy the Snowman (as he's fond of calling himself) rolls with quite an entourage. You should try and make friends with them. I imagine they've disabled the smoke alarms in their hotel room(s).

I mightve been one of the few in my party walking by the boyz who recognized their unique cologne.

Mark said...

Also, I've got an active imagination.

Mark said...

I just used some of that cologne myself.

Christmas would be nice.

TJ--Did you get to spend quality time with my buddies from Morning Joe in Orlando???

I unfortunately was assisting the masses on our trade show floor and missed Mr. Scarborough and his douchebag plagiarist co-panelist Mike Barnicle.

Yep, it's been confirmed...Young Jeezy and his fellas were definitely at my hotel. Hell, they might still be there. Let me put down this celebratory glass of Dom and go find out.
