"Now they sip champagne when they thirst-ay..."
Special thanks to ODU, Murray State, Ohio, BYU AND Florida, Robert Morris, Wake and St. Mary's for making yesterday the best Day 1 of a NCAA Tournament that I can ever remember.
Now if we can only get Day 2 to be half as exciting we're golden...

I currently occupy the 6 and 9 spots in the pool. Technically my 2nd entry is T-8, but it's listed 9th in the standings.
Clicks.
teej - who you got today hardcharger?
Our three early games are Cornell/Temple, Minny/Xavier and West Va/Morgan St.
I've got Huggins' boys, Xavier and I didn't buy into the Cornell hype so went with a sneaky good Temple team.
Someone on the WWL was indirectly downplaying the excitement of yesterday's games, stating that the chalk results of 2009 were the anomoly and upsets like we've seen in the first round of 2010 are more the norm of the NCAA tourney. Um, that's not right is it? Can I get someone with a better memory and sports affinity to weigh in?
The person who wrote that is a moron. Pat Forde?
It's been a long time since the 1st round games were that exciting.
I like today's version of Jerry much more than yesterday's version already.
And I have to agree with TJ, whoever wrote that is an idiot. I couldn't be happier that I chose to take Thursday and Friday off of work.
WVU might want to score a bucket.
I like Cornell a lot but decided to go against popular opinion in 2 of 3 brackets and take an underrated Temple team (though I hedged my bet by taking Cornell to the sweet 16 in the other bracket). I'm also heavy invested in Xavier as I have them taking out Pitt in round 2 of every bracket.
Nice of that comment to post 20 minutes late...
Temple, Mark and I would like you to eat a bag of dicks.
anyone have any ins with a las vegas chiropracter?
Tiger might have a few recommendations for you.
For those scoring at home, West Va was down 10-0 to start this one.
They are now up 52-32.
Cornell is now crushing Temple...
I never thought it could happen, this rappin' stuff. I was too used to packing gatz and stuff.
I'm officially stir crazy in the office, the Man needs to let me go watch some ball.
Siena has two guys who could actually make the Association in Ubiles and Franklin. More than likely however they'll enjoy some time on the roster of Paris Basket Racing.
So we're a West Virginia and a Pittsburgh market? This is not cool.
Just said that to my bartender...what the fuck? Get me that Siena game back. Now.
Wow, "Oakland" has the Bayern Munich style names on the bottom of the jersey?
How come gansta rappers never rocked an Oakland (MI) jersey?
So, Robert Englund is Oakland's most famous alum?
That works for me...
Mayhugh has a fever...and we all know the prescription...
Fairfax County tap water?
This Pittsburgh situation is putting me to sleep.
This Pitt/Oakland game sucks ass.
Siena making me look foolish.
I suckered myself into a few Siena picks based on the seed bonus. Stupid.
did i call louisville/siena out loud?
CBS' live-look in/cut to situation is more confusing than this alternate reality Lost we're dealing with.
If Siena pulls this out on the "foul and extend the game" philosophy, I would be quite psyched.
Game
On
worst made free throw ever
That is NOT what the Saints needed...
So ironically I got the bracket re-lash wrong. I assumed it was the Cornell/Temple game. Obviously, it was this Siena pick.
I took Wofford because it has a stupid name and Siena because of it has a stupid fan (TJ).
Whatever you teaneck pillow biter.
I'm not a biter I'm a writer for myself and others. But my belly is becoming pillow-like.
And your brain is full of malted hops.
Hardly anyone in Milwaukee..weird

Dick Vitale just made the most sense he's ever made. St Johns SHOULD hire Mark Jackson. Why not. Dickie V, you're a genius.
Digger, seriously, STFU
The Gus Johnson soundboard is missing "pause." This is unacceptable.
I saw what I was told was the best guy on Texas A and M gruesomely blow his knee out two months ago. Well, they sure looked fine today, sans the Shaun Livingston knee guy.
I can't believe we're getting this Duke game in DC. Isn't there something more interesting to watch?
I hate Duke. Just needed to air that grievance. Carry on.
Duke winning is a given, but it would be nice to see the ACC go 1-2 in the early games tonight. I love me some ACC hating. I don't have nearly as much loathing for any other conference.
I'm trying not to be down on today's games since yesterday was nearly historic in it's greatness, but I haven't been thrilled by a single game yet.
Dammit! Entertain me!!
Good to hear Don Draper shilling for Mercedes Benz.
I'm pretty sure Elias Harris from Gonzaga has tattoo that prominently involves Jack from "A Nightmare Before Christmas". Listen, I like the movie. I really do. But that's a tattoo you're going to regret.
Oh yeah, game on. FSU within 5.
Listening to Gus Johnson yell "Dulkys" (sounds like Dookies) is pretty fun.
New Mexico State is one of the more tatted basketball teams I cam recall seeing at the collegiate level.
You get the sense the NM State coach does not recruit "character" guys.
Cal-Louisville is runtastic.
When did Tom Penders turn into Gene Wilder?
Cousin Larry.
Now I'm being told Tom penders invented the idea of using the jumpstop as an offensive move. Hmmmmm. I'm dubious.
What in the motherfucking hell is on Aubrey morris' neck?
Aubrey Coleman, excuse me. The alien living on his neck must have thrown me.
the g:tb ron washington tribute is forthcoming
Houston-Maryland...hot halftime buzzer beater action.
TJ is asleep. True story.
We're going on 30 minutes here. He opened his eyes and snarled for a few seconds.
It's aliiive...
AHL
Their is an enormous guy Asian named Zhang who plays for Cal. His eyebrows are mesmerizing.
zhang's whole game is mesmerizing. he's athletic as hell for a 7-footer. and he appears to like screaming randomly.
good morning. what'd we got today fellas? hmmm?
I was playing the "what was Zhang screaming" game during the Cal game with a buddy of mine. Fun for the whole family.
