Ramble On...
This is meant to be the open post for the NFL Draft tomorrow. It promises to be a pretty exciting day, no Jazz Fest day I'm sure, but fun nonetheless. And I felt this picture captured the draft for all football fans out there...I think we all hope Saturday and Sunday could be this perfect:

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 226 of 226Nicks looks slow...and big.
How often does a rookie WR make an immediate substantive impact? "Prince" Hakeem Nicks likely won't replace the loss of Plax for another 2 years.
"That's what's nice about the big receivers, they're big..." thanks Herm.
Sal, stop looking at his body.
The need thing is way overrated. The Giants have several young WRs on the roster already. It's likely that they'll be developed before Nicks.
I'm fine with the pick though. Jerry Reese has enough equity in the bank to last for years.
A bit late here I know, but what's the verdict on Maclin? Will he be more like DeSean Jackson or (gulp) Freddie Mitchell?
From my perspective, Kenny Britt is better than Nicks in every way.
For his first year or two, Maclin will be a screen or bomb type. He didn't play in a pro-style offense, so he likely won't be involved in the more complex intermediate stuff.
Hey fellas. When does the draft start?
Jesus H. Christ. 4 second-round picks and 4 third-round picks for the Pats. That is how you build tremendous depth on the cheap.
morning, ladies. it's 6:46 am, and whitney and i are drinking at igors. no sleep til brooklyn.
Gheorghers: your comments have amused us heartily this morning. Of course, the cockroach that just scurried across the bar 2 feet from us amused us heartily as well.
Derek Cox went to Jacksonville in the 3rd round. He's the only person drafted thus far for whom NFL.com has no information other than where he played in college. They don't even know his height or weight. Tribe Pride! W&M Blows!
Reading on ESPN.com about the Skins third round pick - Kevin Barnes. Strengths included "Smooth in his hips"
I like that Barnes pick a lot. Of course, the Skins were responsible for it so I'm sure he'll be awful.
The Bears just drafted a DE/DT from Texas named Henry Melton who actually played extensively at tailback at UT during his freshman year. That is a position change you don't see often.
Louis Murphy was drafted by the Raiders. It was nice knowing you Lou...
Mark Jackson just said that Rajon Rondo is good at "playing angry basketball". I have no fucking clue what that means.
Continuing recent trends, the Skins got about a 40% solution from their draft and left me scratching my head on the OLB and TE draftings late today. Skins did not address OT, perpetuating the worst kept secret in the league that they have two of the most overrated tackles in the league, and they are getting older. While you could argue (probably correctly) that taking a quality tackle in the 5th or later round is a long shot, I refuse to believe they can enter the season without addressing their skill and depth issues there. I happen to like Heyer to take over for Jansen, but I don't think he's a long term solution unless he drastically improves his run blocking.
It's as if the Skins are conceding that they don't have the requisite internal mechanisms (such as scouting program) or knowledge to get any value out of their late picks. Until that changes, the second day of the draft will continue to be essentially a waste of time for them.
Hello from Omaha, NE...only took me ten fucking hours to get here. O'Hare Airport, I hate you so very very much.
However, it's funny Mark mentioned Mark Jackson, because I literally ran into him at O'Hare. I was running, yes running, from Terminal B to Terminal C and plowed into a guy just meandering around my gate. It was him. All I could muster was "Oh shit...you're Mark Jackson...sorry man". He took one look at my disheveled-ness and laughed it off.
Oh yeah, I had no clue how big that guy really is (height and weight). He didn't even move when I crashed into him.
I like the idea of Mark Jackson wandering aimlessly around O'Hare Airport like some old alzheimers patient.
Oh...and I liked Hedo's dagger...You know how He do.
I like "Omaha's NEW country music station" being called "Twister 93.3"
And fucking Ellsbury just stole home.
So, this Yankees bullpen is god awful, eh?
TJ, any chance you are staying in Omaha for two weeks? I have to be there on May 7-8. We could hang out and have an awesome time...
Oh yeah, based on the first 12 hours here why would I ever want to leave?
God this place sucks.
