Dedicated to the premise that life would be better if we all took ourselves a little less seriously.

I sometimes forget how good the pre-crack fiend Whitney really was...
Teej is channeling his inner Frank Farmer.
Thank god I had to look that one up...shame on you for knowing that reference.
A name like that doesn't leave one's head. Ever.
And that movie marked the beginning of the end of a major star's career. Costner was HUGE for a solid 6-9 year stretch.
And then he was Frank Farmer. And then he in Waterworld.
I intentionally typed "he in". You can insert your own word/phrase here: starred, sucked, shat the bed, rocked the party...
Soooo, looks like Alex Smith really might go down as the worst first pick in NFL Draft history, eh?
ryan leaf says hi.
Uh, rob, wasn't Peyton Manning the first pick in that draft?
Steve Emtman, anyone?
Well, from recent memory, I also think Courtney Brown deserves some votes.
Mayhugh, Emtman was at least in the league for 8 years.
sorry, teej - reading is fundamental.
The Bengals stellar '94 AND '95 #1 picks should also be recognized for their sucktitude.
Tim Couch and David Carr stink too.
I contend David Carr, for all his struggles, is head and shoulders above Alex Smith.
But yeah, Tim Couch blows.
Smith is near the top of the list right now, but he's only 24 so there's still a chance for him. Also, wikipedia lists his height at 5'3". Maybe that's part of his problem.
Didn't Carr get benched for Vinny last year?
"Hi, I'm JaMarcus Russell. Where's the buffet?"
I've noticed that being a crappy highly drafted o-lineman is a good place to hide. Robert Gallery moving to guard and D'Brickashaw Ferguson (not Billingham) generally pooing the pillows doesn't get too much run these days.
The Nats have 16 games left. They currently have 90 losses. Anyone think they can go 7-9 to avoid the 100 loss mark?
Knowing the Nats like I do, I think they get loss #100 in the final game.
6 of those 16 are against the Florida Marlins, who have taken 10 of 12 contests from the Nats this season. They have 4 more versus the Mets, 3 in Philadelphia.
The only sunshine on the docket is 3 home games against the Padres, the only team with a record as wretched as Los Nacionales.
They're definitely going over the 100 mark -- but here's to them beating the Phillies in the final series of the year just to show the world a little gumption and prove Bob Carpenter . . . mostly wrong, but not entirely 100% in the dark without a clue moronic.
I hope to god they finally let Teddy win when and if they lose 100.
Well, I guess I'm not paying enough attention to the NL Wild Card Race - the Astros are just 4 games back?
I think the Astros' success is inversely related to Lance Berkman's performance. His performance tailed off in the second half and the team came back to life.
I'm loving the Cecil Cooper era. Actually, that's a lie. I just love the name Cecil.
Seriously, this was the best singing of the national anthem you could find? I hope Favre accidentally swallows his throwing arm.
The Astros have had at least three seasons this decadewhere they didn't do shit for 5 months and turned it on down the stretch. What the fuck do they do in Spring Training over in Kissimmee? I'm completely perplexed by this team and these continual late surges.
how's todd bouman doing?
I missed a call from Baltimore earlier today and haven't been able to check my messages yet. We'll see...
Have the big bosses at G:TB, Inc. staffed out the weekly picks to one of your teams of writers yet?
Perhaps Cinnaboy, perhaps.
we've got legions of monkeys hammering away at typewriters as we speak, geoff.
That statement offends me...and Alvin Garrett.
Mark--can you pls delete Rob's comment and replace it with a less offensive one. Awful...
how very republican of you, you lipsticked pig.
Rob...I know when you pull the curtain closed in that booth...you're gonna feel a twinge...and only you will know what lever you pulled.
and somewhere, ron paul will get his wings.
