Here's to Rickie Fowler for winning the Player's Championship. Or shall I say, Playah's Championship? When this little number came out on the 17th green to plant a big one on the Rickster, the twitterverse seemed quick to judge. "White trash," "trade her in with that $1.8M check", "buy her some new threads."
You poor, poor souls.
Rickie is the big winner today. Proudaya fella.

that girl's pretty, but she could eat a cheeseburger or two
I've done worse.
The young gun golfers are great. Bubba, Rory, Spieth, etc. And I love that they make the once-cool Tiger look old and lame.
The Jimmy Garappolo era will begin a four week showing this season, including a week 2 tilt at Buffalo!
By contrast, Aaron Berry was suspended three games for two incidents: a DUI and "pointing a gun at three people in a Harrisburg, Pa., parking lot."

That's clearly much more acceptable behavior than being more likely than not responsible for de-pressurizing footballs.
Goodell is a total mess with player discipline. Yet he continues to believe he's the best man for the job.
I'd like to see the suspension reduced by one game. It seems morally proper and an appropriate compromise.
Look at the Pats' schedule.
Keep in mind that Ty Cobb was accused of attempted murder in an act that would be called a hate crime now, was reputedly in the KKK, and yet is a celebrated Hall of Famer. Orlando Cepeda served time for smuggling drugs. HoFer. Joe Jackson and Pete Rose MAY have cheated to win their wagers and will never, ever get in.
Crimes against the game have always appeared to be more heinous than crimes against humanity.
Not that drug-related stuff is a crime against humanity.
Unless you live in Indonesia, where they will execute you for it. Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.
Paul Hornung was suspended a year for gambling on NFL games. He's in the HOF. There's no consistency (although Hornung played 50 years ago so he might not be a relevant comparison).
Am I wrong or is the range of very strong opinions on this much wider than on previous incidents? People I view as objective and not vested feel that the punishment is too much - that 1-2 games fits the crime; and others feel he should be banned for the year with a loss of a 1st rounder and a big fine. It's pretty fascinating really.
I fall right about where it landed - 4 games, fine, draft pick fwiw.
what is more fascinating (as in stupid) is that it seems rog and the nfl seem uninterested in even attempting to create standards as it pertains to infractions, law-breaking, and the like. can't they just sit in a room one day and hammer that out? or am I just not in the know on that?
i have no dog in this fight, and i find the suspension a preposterous overreach by an incompetent organization. this piece is spot on, in my opinion:

might even go out and get myself a tommy brady shirsey.
will you go all in and get the Man Uggs as well?
Rob, you go do that and see how you are depicted among your friends and co-bloggers.
Let's see, you grew up a product of a Boston-loving household, you were/are a Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins fan, each of which had cachet if not recent trophies. The Pats sucked, though, and looked like they would for all time. No cachet. You were in high school in NoVa, the Skins were winners and popular, you become a Skins fan.
20+ years on from their last championship, the Skins were/are losers. Meanwhile, the Patriots have assembled a dynasty with a handsome quarterback. Oh, Dan Snyder sucks, so there's your out. You publicly quit on the Skins and sort of kind of pick up the Saints. Who had recently won the Super Bowl. Whoops, though, they get outed for bounty hunting, they start to be mediocre, and then Sharper ... bleh, don't even want to type it.
Saints and the whole NFL are out.
except
hey now
here's my chance
The Patriots traverse in some people's minds from the bandwagon to the oppressed! Buy a jersey in vigilant defiance of the evil regime atop the NFL. Then casually start rooting more and more for the Pats. By 2020 you're a die-hard, minus the Asian Dawn.
I see your plan, mister, and I reject it. Take that scheme to another blog where people don't know you as well and can't read you like a book. A Little Golden Book.
No dog in this fight my ass.
