Remembering a Legend on (what would've been) his 69th Birthday

Manchester United legend George Best passed away in November 2005. He would have turned 69 today. He must've lived a very Austin Powers-esque shagadelic life, being the best soccer player in the UK in the late 60's and early 70's. The quote above seems to suggest he had his priorities right.

Happy birthday big man.

i know "birds" is british slang for chicks (which is american slang for women) but it would be so much better if he liked to drive around drunk with a bunch of macaws.

my kid's soccer team is 0-19-1 in their last 20 matches. 12 of those losses have been by one goal. that's some crazy shit.

I really, really enjoy watching Golden Staye play basketball. This is probably my favorite team ever in any sport that I don't have a natural rooting interest in.

i could not agree more. steph's second quarter was one of the most incredible things i've ever seen out of the corner of my eye at a bar with clarence, marls, and mr kq.

Steph Curry has 40 points on 19 shots...

the play he made boxing out dwight to get a rebound is this series in microcosm.

i'm still flabbergasted by what steph did last night

Cheers to Rob, Marls, and KQ the masculine for the mini-summit at The Old Brogue. Here's to another tonight and then another tomorrow AM at Cowboy as we prepare to watch Whitney become Abraham.

Not a lot of drama in today's BPL matches, but pretty cool of NBC to have all ten matches on different NBC-affiliated channels.

I want Newcastle to be demoted, but that means Hull losing to Man U. Conundrum.

I bought a Steph Curry shershey last night. I rarely do that. He's earned it. I love him.

KQ the masculine is a great moniker, by the way.

I enjoyed the Steph stare down of the crowd - embrace the Dark Side, young Curry

The Warriors are endlessly entertaining to watch. They also have great uniforms. One of the few good things Adidas has done during their contract with the NBA.

Hung out in the pool most of the afternoon drinking Pacifico Clara. Followed that up with pork mojo and smoked wings for dinner. I like Memorial Day weekend.

Also, Matthew Dellevedova is a dirty player.

This should surprise nobody, but Tony Hawk's kid has some skills:

thought my cousin's graduation bbq would be fairly mundane but they had corn-hole AND can-jam and badminton and washers and ping-pong. all parties should have games, even though no one appreciates how good i am at corn-hole. can-jam reminded of old's obft nose injury. there would be less stress and heart attacks if every weekend was three days long.

Loved the GTB mini-summit at the Cowboy Cafe today with rob, Shlara, Marls, baconbaking, Clarence, and Teej, among other friends. Many thanks to all. My WhitneyBurger was primo and a piece of beefy nostalgia.
