Can we be sure Tommy Tutone were not time travelers?

Because if I didn't know any better I would be sure this song is about a certain older gentleman named Brett Lorenzo Favre and a young lass named Jennifer Lynette Sterger.  Enjoy the video, and lyrics...and decide for yourself.  8-6-7-5-3-0-9 indeed.

Jenny, Jenny, who can I turn to?
You give me something I can hold onto
I know you think I'm like the others before [Browning Nagle]
Who saw your name and number on the wall
Jenny, I got your number,
I need to make you mine.
Jenny, don't change your number,
8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)

Jenny, Jenny, you're the girl for me.
You don't know me but you make me so happy.
I tried to call you before but I lost my nerve. [See NFC Championship game INT...pick the year]
I tried my imagination, but I was disturbed.
Jenny, I got your number,
I need to make you mine.
Jenny, don't change your number,

8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
I got it, I got it, I got it!
I got your number on the wall!
I got it, I got it, I got it!
For a good time, for a good time call....

Jenny, don't change your number.
I need to make you mine.
Jenny. I'll call your number,
8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)

Jenny, Jenny who can I turn to? (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
For the price of a dime I can always turn to you.
(8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
8-6-7-5-3-0-9 (8-6-7-5-3-0-9)
8-6-7-5-3-0-9(//fade out//)
8-6-7-5-3-0-9
8-6-7-5-3-0-9
8-6-7-5-3-0-9

So will Urban Meyer become the next Favre? Didn't he quit once and then come back hours/days later?

pardon the redundancy but was rudely cut off my blog administrator...previously...on gtb:

what's the deal w/that? seems like kind of a puss move...would he have done this had he had a 9/10-win season and didn't have some of the heat he has had?

i wonder if he prayed to tebow, i mean god, prior to making the decision.
tebows' coaches having a bad day or two. he (tebow) picked a hell of a week to quit drinking ginger ale.

yes squeaky. it was days later. but it wasn't to coach was it? i need a memory jogger. he came back in a different capacity, for a few more days, then decided he might better well coach. is that right mark or am i trippin?

Sorry to interrupt the discussion, but I think I found a recipe for TJ's Festivus dinner:

You're wrong, Dan. He originally said he was quitting as coach but staying on in an Administrative capacity. He came back a day later and said he'd be the head coach. He did say he was taking time off after the Sugar Bowl to be rest and rejuvenate and that Addazzio would run the program whilst he was gone.

As for the puss move, can't say I agree. There were a lot of rumors throughout the year that Urban "wasn't the same" and seemed more withdrawn than normal. If anything, I think his lack of complete and total control led to an even more disappointing season than Florida would've had normally (even with the huge loss in personnel).

I also didn't here a lot of heat on Meyer himself. There were calls for him to shake up his staff (Fire Addazzio and maybe a few others) but very few rational Gator fans were killing Meyer. Most believed this would rekindle his fire.

Not that my opinion matters but my top 3 choices for Meyer's replacement (in no particular order) are:

Dan Mullen, Chris Peterson, Kyle Whittingham

I seriously considered stopping work at 2:30 today and going to the bar. Not to get hammered, but to have a couple and soak it in. I didn't. The fact that I have some pickup ball at 5 and a niece's birthday dinner at my sister's at 7:30 certainly contributed to this decision but I'm still impressed by my (relative) maturity.

Next Gator coach: Kyle Whelliston.

Dave, too bad you are an English teacher. This sounds like it would be a cool science experiment.

And I guess I'm using staples to wrap all my xmas presents this year.

I think you may have to try it on a hairless area, though.

Crap can't believe this DC institution is closing. Had one of my first good beers here with my older brothers id.

TJ and all you DC folks grab a beer here before it closes.

College hoops talk: if super frosh Kyrie Irving is indeed done for the season for Duke, that completely changes the hoops landscape, because hate Duke or not, they were poised to repeat with Irving at PG (and still might). Now, it's a bit more wide open come March....

I'm starting to think we need "Gheorghe: The Tumblr"...

Dave, tumblr would be an excellent platform for SoD.
