Since I felt comfortable criticizing Dave for his post length (and somehow angered Wh, er Igor in the process, I thought it only appropriate that I supply some sort of content for this fair blog. Mind you, it's more "filler" than "content" but it's the best I could do during what's turned out to be a hellacious couple of weeks at work for me. I hope you enjoy it. First, we have the man who nearly ruined my second tour in Gainesville (nearly, it's tough to have anything that includes copious amounts of drugs, booze and women under 23 ruined), and current Illinois Head Football coach Ron Zook (over/under on when he's no longer employed by the Illini: November 11) singing "Take me out to the ballgame" at a recent Cubs game.
All in all, this video is a pretty solid microcosm of his time with Florida. Starts off with promise and tons of enthusiasm. Things quickly go south when it becomes clear he's not completely sure what he's supposed to do or even how to do it. The fans quickly turn on him and start to boo ("noise in the system" in Zookese). However, he fights through it and finishes things out even though he still doesn't really know what he's supposed to do (or, again, how to do it) and finally exits in disgrace (to Illinoise, as he called it at his introductory press conference).
And in a funny coincidence, Antoine Dodson of "They rapin eeerybody out here" fame was actually a part of Zook's first recruiting class at Florida. Sadly, he didn't meet NCAA academic requirements and went to a junior college in Mississippi where he eventually dropped out to pursue his dream of starting his own hair care products business.
