But seriously, take a look:

And they're for sign language too!

i see aaron hernandez is trying the time-tested ray lewis approach to beating a murder rap. go for obstruction - it's a winner. next step, acclaim and profit.

They should get more ASL interpreters at hip-hop shows. Like a chorus of them on rafters in the background.

Did you know that Justice Frankfurter wrote the opinion for Cobbledick v. United States? I guess that makes sense.

Two Gators won an NBA title last night and Abby Wambach broke Mia Hamm's international goal record. Pretty big day for former Gator athletes. Good thing none of our former football players are embroiled in any high profile legal trouble.

the new fbi director is a graduate of the college of william and mary

and abby wambach is a badass

Mark said...

Remember what I said about Hernandez's friends? Some mention of them here. They were known, and not in a good way in Gainesville.

She is, Rob. A friend of mine from high school (she graduated as the all time leading goal scorer in US high school history) was the other striker with Wambach for three years at Florida so I went to a lot of UF Women's soccer games when Wambach was there. She was unstoppable in college. Physically better than anyone else on the field at all times. Tougher too.

i'd tell my daughter to emulate abby, but there's no chance she'll have the physical gifts. so i tell her to emulate diana matheson.

Rob- You see that former Bama RB Glen Coffee is graduating from Army Airborne school today? Pretty badass of him.

rob said...

i did, mark. good for him - looks like he's figured out his purpose in life. or at least something that makes him feel fulfilled.

the wutang bonnaroo video is no longer available. repeat: the wutang bonnaroo video is no longer available.

w&m's emily stites won the 5000m at the usa junior track and field championships by 47 seconds last night. no abby wambach or anything, but pretty decent.

North West.

i actually kind of like it.

'course, you're from winchester, where that passes as relatively unremarkable in terms of fucked up names.

Mark said...

I'm in no position to talk about what other people name their childrens.

zman said...

Kemba is a dope name.

Danimal said...

rob. careful.

gandolfini was quite the man heh? nary a negative word written about him. good people. very sad.

Looking forward to the day when one of you jokers gets nominated for a big-time appointed position and the vetting team has to comb through GTB in their due diligence. Go Tribe.

rob said...

that's why i use a pseudonym, shlara

Mark said...

I'm not too concerned about that down here in Florida, Shlara. Even on the very off chance I'm nominated I'd be good. Our governor was heavily involved in Medicare fraud.

And Kemba is a dope name, Z. Which is why I was so bummed you got to use it before me.

rob said...

z, i wonder how you feel about nadal being the 5th seed at wimbledon. this probably doesn't help you feel better about the seeding processes in professional tennis.

rob said...

little curious why shlara hasn't professed a crush on spoelstra. seems her type.

zman said...

I think it's more ridiculous that Federer is the 3 seed.

Shlara said...

Rob, Coach Spo is totally my type! And I remember him from back in the day when he was a junior coach--always a highlight when the Heat came to town. I would hang out in the VIP seats pre game to watch him run a few guys thru shooting drills. Not as exciting as when Danny Ferry would come to town, but pretty close

Ghostface once said "I'm a sell all my guns and with the cash I'm a bring you to Vegas." An anti-abortion group in Ohio appears to have latched onto this lyric of love and put the plan into action.

big day, eh gheorghies?

TR said...

Sorry to disappoint you, Rob. Most of us have been out all day in a convertible, bird-dogging babes and banging beaver.

Can you name the movie without cheating?

Dave said...

i'm going with risky business or weird science. without cheating.

Dave said...

or stripes?

Dave said...

holy shit! i got it (with three chances) i'll make it a multiple choice. one of those suggestions is the answer . . .

Mark said...

You guys are so old. I think that's what I like best about GTB. I'm the youngest.

Clarence said...

I was sure there was a Cuckoo's Nest reference similar to that...

zman said...

Didn't ken cosgrove write that?

Is it wrong to be rooting for Snowden?

Marls said...

I think Ray Kelly's statements about the NSA program were very telling. Because of that, part of me is rooting for Snowden. Then I remember that he is self aggrandizing, grey shirt wearing, douchebag IT consultant with a god-complex and I'm not as sympathetic.

The Pirates are 15 games over .500?? Holy crap.

I stumbles the pub, and am quite confident I wasn't neat or clever.

zman said...

Kemba shit the tub again.

Mark said...

Kemba's the best! Maple shit the tub once and wouldn't take a bath in that tub for weeks.

And what's wrong with grey shirts, Marls?

zman said...

Marls only wears puce.

rob said...

all five al east squadrons within 5 games of each other. this has the makings of a fun summer. for everyone other than mark.

Marls said...

Grey shirts are fine. Grey dress shirts are not. They are from the Andy Sipowicz fall collection.

rob said...

what's your take on brownshirts? i'll hang up and listen.

rob said...

flying home from boston. should get to my house around midnight. have a 6:45 am flight to minneapolis tomorrow. will be waking at 4:30 or so. expect some punchy efforts from me.

Marls said...

In general, I'm not down with paramilitary groups or fascists, so I'm a seller on brownshirts. The same reasoning also rules out blackshirts.

zman said...

This whole Marls-as-sartorialist turn of events is great. His internship with Anna Wintour is paying great dividends, especially in light of what he wore in college.

rob said...

nebraska is fascist? always suspected that, to be honest.
