Perhaps Mark has a college football post in the works, but I'm not sure, so let this poorly chosen clip serve as a placeholder until something better comes along (hopefully)...

Dedicated to the premise that life would be better if we all took ourselves a little less seriously.
I would've preferred a Kathleen Turner Overdrive clip.
ReplyDeleteyou guys playin' any golf this wkd? please do, and if not, give a buck or two to foldsofhonor.com
ReplyDeletea good cause....remember when i was in oklahoma a few months back - well was meeting w/major dan rooney who you'll see all over the tv this wkd if you haven't already - he teed it up with 43 this morning in Waco...good peeps and a good cause, plus he hired our company due to some serious schlepping skills...get'r done
I'm efforting a CFB post, but "work" keeps getting in the way. Total bullshit, I know.
ReplyDeleted-train, that website has been tweeted.
ReplyDeleteexcellent. cheers.
ReplyDeleteNorv Turner Overdrive was...mediocre.
ReplyDeleteBut everyone once in awhile Norv stuck to the bass guitar and let Jerry rock it on the mic. That's when they made their sweetest music.
Ike Turner Overdrive could really beat that drum.
ReplyDeleteEAT THE CAKE ANNA MAY!!!
ReplyDeleteNot like the Nat Turner Overdrive though.
ReplyDeleteSir Isaac Newton, the father of modern science immortalized in The Sounds of Science, "never married and is believed to have been asexual, being highly engrossed in his studies and work."
ReplyDeleteIn his next life, he returned as a co-ed at The College of William & Mary.
your william & mary wrens play @ uva, @ richmond, @ syracuse, and @ unc this season. wooooo, doggie.
ReplyDeletehere's the whole ooc schedule: http://bit.ly/btfUN6
ReplyDeleteAlso around the tri-corner...
ReplyDeleteResearchers: Williamsburg colonists buried pets
A finding from the College of William and Mary may change attitudes about how colonists treated their pets.
Laboratory analysis at the college has found that some bone fragments recovered this summer in unmarked graves on campus belonged not to humans but to dogs, buried two centuries ago.
The finding is apparently unprecedented. Colonists were not previously known to have buried their pets in formal graves.
In other news, the College of William & Mary has cut the Archaeology program after realizing what they are spending their time doing.
As Geoff mentioned, Malcolm Kelly injured his hamstring. Again. And now he's on IR, done for the year.
ReplyDeleteIt seems he tore his hammy, or as Redskins.com writer Gary Fitzgerald wrote on the website:
"Mike Shanahan indicated that Kelly had teared his hamstring early in camp.
Really? He teared his hamstring? Was that on the same play when McNabb throwed him the ball and he falled down? For fuck's sake, man. Maybe on Chester Douchebuckle's 5th grade Skins Fan Club blog, that'll slide, but on the Redskins' official site? That really maked me wonder.
this pet thing sounds fishy. if the graves were unmarked, then who cares? it's hot and humid in williamsburg-- you're not going to let a dog rot and fester in the sun, you're going to bury it. so what? i do not think this warrants a news story.
ReplyDeleteand if you haven't been to "sentence of dave" today, you'll find plenty of other stuff that doesn't deserve to be in print.
MAKES me wonder Igor...MAKES
ReplyDeleteYeah, what are your options for dead pet disposal other than burial? Cremation? Dinner? Nail it to your friend's door?
ReplyDeleteZman, definitely option D. Nail it to the door! While hurling various pieces of fruit at it.
ReplyDeleteI concur. Nailing it to the door is definitely the way to go...
ReplyDeleteFive legitimate articles in the past 37 days from Bill Simmons? That's just about one a week! I guess he reads the comments at G:TB and got motivated to actually write again instead of just casting pods.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, I'm surprised no one has cast a pod here recently. Another recurring bit bites the dust.
okay...just did a little pruning in the yard. my wife will never have me do that again which was my aim. i'm off to swim for a spell. when i return, i do expect to have our cfb post. thank you.
ReplyDeleteIf you're buying a car and trying to figure out whether or not to pony up the extra cash for xenon headlights, don't do it. You need a Ph.D. in electrical engineering to replace the bulb. Which cost about $180 each. I am bitter.
ReplyDeleteWhatever preview you have coming, you may want to grab Geoff's input on Desmond Howard's suit-shirt-tie ensemble. He looks like an absolute dandy. In a good way.
ReplyDeleteHeading over shortly to Jerome's Sports Cave for multiple tv cfb viewing fun.
ReplyDeleteD-train, hop on a plane...
And TJ, we may want to discuss taking in a Piranha-Machete double feature. Camp is in, this summer.
ReplyDeleteTJ - I'll see you in the car.
ReplyDelete-Milhouse
Somewhere Jerry is smirking because the Lions just cut cock-blocker extraordinaire Jon Jansen.
ReplyDeleteBig and Rich very prevalent on GameDay. Is this 2004?
ReplyDeletemiami of ohio...wow -did you guys see the fake punt?
ReplyDeleteif things stay as is, it will be a very poor start to the wagering season.
the teej - would love to. not sure it would be worth the homelessness though.
ReplyDeleteThis Serbia/Croatia game is absurd.
ReplyDeleteMark - I think Florida has gotten enough practice running the bubble screen.
ReplyDeletethe first rb&v of the season has been poured.
ReplyDeleteTribe game, 330, CSNE on DirecTV.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i'm all over the tribe game.
ReplyDeletethe biggest improvement thus far, early in this nd game, is brian kelly's attire. no 4X hoody sweatshirt with matching pants. nice job bk.
The Cardinals cut Matt Leinart in favor of Derek Anderson. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteIrish!!!!
ReplyDeletenice nice drive. spread it all over the place.
ReplyDeleteseriously folks...texting & driving....what's up with that?
ReplyDeletenervous time for the teej and d-train
ReplyDeleteyes - it was almost another ulcer inducing game. should have never been so.
ReplyDeletea nice slate of baw game this evening.
should we send out a search party for mark? so unlike him. i'm worried sick.
Tribe loses to UMass? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...
ReplyDeleteI'm at the ODU/Jacksonville game. College football rules.
igor...that's not college football. just sayin.
ReplyDeletejax state beats ole miss?
ReplyDeletetcu helmets - fresh.
jesse palmer - he's so gq.
gtb's fashion guru - dtrain
unc fumble on 1st play from scrimmage...where was the tutor on that play?
ReplyDeleteJesse Palmer's picture can be found in my hope chest.
ReplyDeleteThe girl who just handed the replay headset to the ref at the Georgia Dome needs to try a new shampoo.
it make me feel warm & fuzzy knowing someone else here has a hope chest.
ReplyDeletelsu's qb - george jefferson. did not know that. his shirt does look a little starchy though.
ReplyDeleteWhere do other people keep their dream diaries?
ReplyDeletei keep mine in the dollhouse, under the floorboards.
ReplyDeleteBeavers on top. Like the sound of that Robert Flores.
ReplyDeleteShow of hands: Who thinks VTech is going to beat the bag out of Boise St?
ReplyDeleteIt kind of looks like the TCU players made their own uniforms.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't figure out where TJ is tonight...then I just realized that Bill & Ted's is on HBO right now.
ReplyDeletegeoff - i hope you're right about vt...but i don't see them winning.
ReplyDeletethe lack of visibility between the teej, and mark, of all days, is disappointing. i may have to cancel my subscription to this site.
on a fitness note - no more training. why? well, skechers shape-ups of course. getchyaself some.
Shape ups aren't just effective...they also look sharp.
ReplyDeleteMark is on the twitter machine tonight...but can't make time for G:TB apparently.
I don't know much about much, but I think that thing on Beamer's neck is more than Boise St. can handle.
what is mark's twitter machine handle? i love finding new people to follow on the twitter machine.
ReplyDeleteMike London and the Cavaqueers are getting it done...ish...
ReplyDelete@bugdust11 But you probably could have guessed that...
ReplyDeletei think that game was closer than score indicates...looks like another great yr for the spidey's....and another turrible one for the who's. ya gotta take the good w/the bad.
ReplyDeleteand who woulda thunk robert gibbs was such a big fball freak? he's a war eagle and all over the twitter machine. i bet he was fun to hang out w/in college.
The Redskins 53 man roster is now available. Ijust carefully reviewed it. Immediately takeaways: receiving corps is old, but at least they're slow; the secondary could be a real shitshow; O-line will be much better.
ReplyDeleteYeah, by all accounts Gibbs is a good dude.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in a band, our new album would be called Illegal Touching.
omg...are you seeing the cleavage from what's her face, the espn sideline chick in oregon state game? she's a hawg.
ReplyDeleteIn a lisp off between Mike Mayock and Lou Holtz...who ya got?
ReplyDeleteYeah, Holly Rowe...she has a W&M Tribe vibe that reminds me of some of my late night dance floor escapades.
ReplyDeleteAs noted at 11:30am, I am at Jerome's Sports Cave...with TNT, Joe Kickass, Mayhugh and Slats.
ReplyDeleteholtzch...he'ths unbeatable
ReplyDeleteAh yes TJ...I remember when I had "friends" and a life.
ReplyDeletewow the teej. that's an impressive post-up for opening wkd. do they sell beer there?
ReplyDeletethe teej must be single and w/out childs?
ReplyDeleteThe Teej and company are indeed reliving some decades ago fun...
ReplyDeleteKind of and yes. Much like Miley Cyrus' relationship status, "its complicated."
ReplyDeletei had some late night dance escapades in the tribe nation. love those kappa sigs.
ReplyDeleteYeah, those guys were hot...
ReplyDeleteWhy did TCU allow COBRA Commander to design their unis?
ReplyDeleteAnd who put the blue duct tape on their shoulders?
ReplyDeletesorry but i like'em. baby jesus designed them.
ReplyDeleteI find that the drunk driving ads where the window rolls down and alcohol comes pouring out make me want a drink. Is this indicative of a problem?
ReplyDeleteis there anyone else out there that think pouncey is caught up in a point shaving scheme?
ReplyDeletegeoff - only if you don't want to drink.
ReplyDeletei thought about that commercial for about 10 min today...that's a lot of effort and $ to make a little 30-sec commercial. they need to be on an episode of "how'd they do that?"
Yeah, I spent some time thinking about which car I'd want to be in and I picked the martini...because if I got bored I could swim around and eat all the olives.
ReplyDeletespeaking of drinking, and b/c i still find it fulfilling to talk about alcohol intake, i've emptied 4 bottles thus far....they were all leftovers from last season and needed to take care of some housecleaning prior to the season's ligger run. a vodka, 2 bourbon's, and a cap'ns...i AM an ironman.
ReplyDeletelsu.
ReplyDeleteI just polished off a bottle of Springbank 14 yr...it gives me what I need to sleep thru the late night cries of my children.
ReplyDeleteWhats the worst school academically in the SEC? Is it Miss St? LSU? There's a lot of competition for that honor.
ReplyDeletevery nice, but you have it backwards. the kids should have polished off the springbank so they could sleep through your football fandom.
ReplyDeletei gotta go w/lsu...only reference point is jamarcus...not much else to say there.
wash byu on versus...shapin up to be a good one
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I have debated the merits of giving our children pre-bedtime cordials. I was on the losing end of said debate.
ReplyDeleteLSU...bringing the wood.
My Versus is showing Indy car...what the shit?
ReplyDeleteit only figures...tried to get a bet in 10 min b4 game...on lsu...window closed.
ReplyDeleteAndy Dalton...the Cooler.
ReplyDeleteJayhawks losing to ND State in the 4th qtr. Mangino ate all the old playbooks/prospects.
ReplyDeleteand utah state down 7 to oklahoma headin into q4.
ReplyDeleteNice debut Turner Gill.
ReplyDeleteWisconsin/UNLV on Versus at 11.
ReplyDeletedo think the most interesting man in the world could get his own tv show?
ReplyDeleteholly sims used to be the mascot at arksansas. she didn't wear a uniform.
ReplyDeleteam rethinking my previous props to tcu uni's the more i see...i like the helmets - i'm a fan of squiggly lines. everything else not so much
ReplyDeleteand as i say that, holly explained the uniforms - nike designed...it's a "hell freezes over" theme...won't waste ligament use trying to explain it.
ReplyDelete
