Be careful out there this weekend, my friends.

I think this happened to Shem one time.

federer down 2 sets to 1. anyone care?

zman said...

Yes. I'd like to see Federer get the career slam. He won the fourth 6-1.

zoltan always did like the swiss. he's into cheese, chocolate, and impartiality.

Funny to see the tennis comments. I was gonna post about Roger going to set 5.

I have very little interest in much of tennis, but fifth sets of major matches are about as good as sports gets (especially when there are sweaty 18-22 year-old women involved).

Now that you think about it, a lot of things are better when there are sweaty 18-22 year-old women involved...

Federer is a likable guy and a gifted athlete. He works hard and constantly strives to win. Unlike Agassi, who disgusted me with his laziness. I was not pleased when he got the career slam. Imagine if he actually gave a shit during the first half of his career?

I'm also into over-engineered watches and pocketknives.

zman said...

And as much as I like sweaty young women, I don't know of a women's tournament that plays five set matches.

Mark said...

Don't rain on TR's parade. He's happy in his little fantasy world.

Remind me not to read the gtb comments when watching the matches during my extended lunch break...tape delay, she is a bitch.

The Sweaty Lady Invitational, which, as Mark noted, plays solely inside my head on rainy Fridays, has 5 set matches. And post-tennis frolicking in the ladies' locker room.

rob said...

hey teej, wanna know what happens?

T.J. said...

Well, I heard Bruce Willis is actually dead, so I guess the kid wasn't totally full of shit the whole movie.

zman said...

Two sets worth of frolicking may be worthwhile with certain sweaty ladies, but not others. I would not enjoy going two sets after the finals of this year's French Open in light of the finalists.

I once was about 6 to 9 feet away from Maria Sharipova. I would enjoy 5-set frolick with her.

i like how zoltan used the russian accent in his last sentence. nice touch.

T.J. said...

Zoltan will splash the pot whenever the fuck he pleases...

TR said...

Who has bigger balls: Zoltan or Hana Mandlikova?

zman said...

Vee make big trouble for Moose and Squirrel.

Mark said...

Ya know..."Showdown" by Electic Light Orchestra is pretty fucking underrated.

rob said...

just watched 'casino royale'. first time i've seen daniel craig as 007. when was bond simultaneously such a badass and a pussy?

mayhugh said...

Mark - agreed on Showdown. With the exception of its appearance during the Woody Harrelson-Bill Murray match in Kingpin, it's a really underutilized song .

zman said...

Who has bigger thighs: TR or Svetlana Kuznetsova?

top 100 hard rock songs of all time on vh1 right now at #60 ('18 and life'). what's #1, 'back in black', 'welcome to the jungle', 'enter sandman'?

rob said...

alexi lalas is a little bit of a dick.

rob said...

swell start for the u.s.

rob said...

enter sandman is 5, back in black 2. i'm so excited about #1.

rob said...

welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games. i can't really argue with that.

T.J. said...

The Honduran unis: prison chic or god awful?

T.J. said...

So no one told the Pens they had a game tonight?

rob said...

god awful, unquestionably. reggie white would have a few things to say about latin american fashion sense.

rob said...

courageous goal, that. bocanegra nearly took a boot to the head.

T.J. said...

Nice top of the first so far for the Nats...

T.J. said...

Is that David Wells I hear in the TBS booth?

Jerry said...

Rob Dibble is on a 10 minute rant against the draft, prospects, and young players. And not just in baseball. All sports. Finally, after hundreds of words of nonsense, we get to the crux of it - nobody rated Rob Dibble as a good prospect.

T.J. said...

Dibble also let us know Mike Lowell is bigger than he thought, and told a "story" about Adam Dunn eating two cheeseburgers while discussing politics with him.

T.J. said...

And Dice-K looks like he wants to throw about 140 pitches in 5 or less innings today...

Jerry said...

I'm actually rooting for the Mets to get out quickly in hopes that a commercial will break up this rant, although I'm pretty sure that he's kept the momentum going through one commercial break already.

I don't know how you watch Nats games. These guys are brutal.

T.J. said...

I make sure to flip by at least a couple of times a game just to hear the stoopid shit that comes out of Dibble's mouth. Carpenter is awful too of course...but seriously, the Hawk Harrelson White Sox broadcasts are actually worse. Hard to believe, but 100 percent true.

rob said...

i didn't think it possible, but dice-k is harder to watch than wakefield. that's quite a feat.

T.J. said...

Nick Johnson has already played 16 more games this year than last...durable that guy.

T.J. said...

We're a Red Sox big inning away from douchebag Vincente Padilla drilling a guy in the head.

rob said...

quite a final 9 shaping up in jack's tournament. think i can convince my kids that the sprinkler is no longer fun?

T.J. said...

This Cubs/Reds game might never end.

T.J. said...

Alfonso Soriano disagrees with me.

rob said...

i guess we're not supposed to be shocked by tiger any more, but good gracious.

rob said...

lamar odom, that was just mean. poor jj redick.

rob said...

iran/north korea world cup qualifier on fox soccer channel. in case you want some axis of evil to balance your kobe fix.

rob said...

redick may as well be a traffic cone for all the attention he's getting from his teammates on the floor.

rob said...

really feels like the lakers can run away with this whenever they feel like it.

Mark said...

Well...you nailed it rob. The Lakers could run away with last night's game whenever they wanted. They just didn't feel like it until the last two minutes of OT.

rob said...

indeed. i believe david stern had something to do with it.
