G:TB wishes a happy (or not, depending upon his preference) 40th birthday to Oscar the Grouch. In celebration, a little of his theme song:
Oh, I love trash!
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
Yes, I love trash.

rob, I think any Sesame Street-related post has to also involve this link somewhere:

if that's what i think it is, then you're absolutely right.
Oh, it is...
When you have kids and are sucked into having to watch Sesame Street a lot, you grow to appreciate Oscar and Cookie. There is enough humor that flies over the kids' heads to keep you from punching yourself in the face.
Now Big Bird, on the other hand, sucks. Somebody should pummel that oversized p*ssy. And his lard-ass friend Snuffy.
Has Federer ever won the French Open?
nope. it's his great red clay whale.
I actually referenced the B&E rap clip in a client meeting recently. The best part is the client already knew about it.
Too bad Roger doesn't have a distinctive sound bite about his elusive quest a la Lendl and his epic "I want to win da Wimb-lee-dunn" press quote.
So Federer is now set up to win and be pelted with questions about not beating his big foe to win. I can see the Sports Reporters getting a quartet of hard-ons as they prepare to have this inane debate.
and make no mistake, it'll be a festival of inanity.
god forbid woody paige gets a hack at it. pun intended.
Gainesville + matter of fact journalism:
Gators CB Jenkins arrested near bar
"Police used a Taser on Jenkins, who punched someone in the head after being told not to."
How could they shortchange that story so much? He hit somebody repeatedly, at least once after the cops told him to stop, because he thought they were trying to take his chain. No Jerry, its not the kind of chains that you guys in New Jersey wear but you get the idea. Then, after being tased he jumped up and ran way which, of course, resulted in another shot from the taser.
Janoris Jenkins' toughness and lack of fear are great as a corner. Somewhat less effective as an average citizen.
Just got this link in an E-mail from the House that Louis Levy built. They are seeking nominations.

The page notes that "No person previously has received this award with less than fifteen years of continuous service as an alumnus to the Fraternity." As such, I think Bobert and Whit are now eligible. First ballot HOF?
