A Very G:TB Thanksgiving

We don't have many traditions here (though I know how eagerly you're all anticipating the Twelve Days of Gheorghemas), but our sort of annual (this is the third time we've done it) Thanksgiving tribute to humanity is one of them.

Do enjoy, and may you and yours continue to have a cornucopia of reasons to be thankful.

  1. Headn over to defend my title in the jogging stroller division at local turkey trot. Kind of a big deal.

  2. we expect so much of lebron that he's kinda lost the capacity to amaze us, but he's shooting 60% from the floor this season. 60%. that's absurd.

  5. Took the bird out of the fridge, plied bacon twixt the skin and breast, and put the thermometer in place. Once we're up to room temp it's time to fire up the oven and apply the rub.

  6. Greetings from Whale's Vagina.

Today I'm thankful for lots of stuff:
-the fact that I don't live in SoCal
    -Shark attacks at Tortuga's
    -turkey stuffing made with sausage
    -my wife and family
    -Dr. Johnny Fever

Also on this list is G:TB. Thanks to all of you for making life that much more enjoyable.

May your turkey be moist, the scotch be 18 years old, your sweatpants be loose, and the leftovers be plentiful.

  7. Not intentionally trying to be a tough guy, but I just started hitting the wine at 69 minutes past noon. Clicks.

  9. 1 bloody and 1 bourbon milk down. The buzz is stronger than I'd like with this many hours left in the day not to mention the turkey carving thing.

  10. Thankful for my wife who felt compelled to put Xmas lights up yesterday and a mom-in-law who gives us some semblance of sanity (SOS) including today's 3 hours of entertaining the 2 oldest at her place.

  17. Totally agree. In fact, I have NEVER bitten into a piece of pumpkin pie nor will I. I've eaten all sorts of crazy shit but that is off limits.

  22. Gheroghies--happy turkey day.

I'm in a bit of a panic today--attempted to take my timed, take-home ethics exam on the old MacBookPro. Two mins in, the computer froze and I was forced to restart...therefore shutting myself out of the test completely. Going to stress eat with some turkey & stuffing.

  24. When I went to Tallahassee this summer I introduced my brother in law to Fat Tire. I've been informed that its his new favorite beer. I'm out here doing the Lord's work.

  25. Shlara - welcome to the modern education experience! My first day of law school threw me for a loop when everyone started taking note ... on laptops. I thought someone threw a box of tic tacs on the floor.

  26. My grammy's pumpkin pie was the shit. If only you all were lucky enough to taste her pie.

Also love Fat Tire. Won a Fat Tire shirt in an Aspen après ski open mike event and have been a fan ever since.

  32. If we're gonna rank jailbait pop tards, there's 18 y/o Jessica Simpson and everybody else far below. Like Doc Gooden, she brought her best heat for a short period in her late teens.

    ReplyDelete
  33. We had 15 desserts on the table at my Mom's house. Danimal saw the picture in twitter. I'm so fat right now.

  34. I can't name a single Jessica Simpson song bu like TR I greatly appreciate her early work.

  35. White wine > red wine > Irish coffee > scotch.

When you're bloated, scotch gets it done. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking some up.

  40. wright thompson is just killing mississippi state's uniforms on twitter. justifiably, as they're as disgusting as pumpkin pie. a sampling:

Imagine if Alabama's uniforms were designed by the lineup of a Reno whorehouse. Those are State's uniforms.

State bought these uniforms in Panama City.

  41. mike tomlin just pulled off a subtler jason kidd.

  42. Mississippi State's uniforms just missed a game winning FG.

  43. Shockey Brown sounds like the result of an unfortunate romantic interlude not a cornerback.

  44. Mississippi State beats their archival. Gets bowl eligible. And gets to .500. They do it at home. In OT. Greatest night ever?
