New Music/Old Movie Friday...um...I Mean Thursday

According to Wikipedia, Ogre You Asshole is a Japanese rock band formed in Nagano, Japan taking influences from Modest Mouse, Fugazi and Talking Heads. I'm sold.

For the young 'uns out there, here is the genesis of that kick-ass band name.

No confirmation on rumors that alternate band names included Have You Ever Had Sex With a Woman, Jeez Betty You're Like a Goat or I Thought I Was Looking At My Mother's Old Douche Bag But That's in Ohio.

On that note, here's a final clip for those of you with home improvement aspirations:

Enjoyable tune. I really enjoy the Family Guy spoof of the "Put One Foot in Front of the Other" montage. Anyone else have that ditty (by Bone Symphony) on their iPod, or is it just me?

You do realize today's Thursday, right TR?

I was willing to that one go, though I noticed it too.

Indeed. I didn't know Vlade and Drazen feuded. My allergies acted up a little bit towards the end there.

Joe Theismann was just asked to name the best team in the NFC. He first said it was the Giants...then the Bears...and then "maybe the Redskins." I knew he would get there...but was surprised he played it so coy at first.

And Drazen was run off the road by one of Vlade's crew. Huge conspiracy.

So the Mexican joint a couple blocks down from the office just opened up after 6 months of being closed. I'd say that's cause for a maragarita.

Or rather, I DID say that . . . and went there for a late lunch with three female colleagues, had several jumbo margs and a couple of shots, and we all returned to the office for 2 hours of stunning productivity. Now it's happy hour, back to the bar.

Olé!

Oh, and tonight I am scheduled to go watch Condoleeza Rice speak. Back in college, Professor Nezlek paused during his lecture in Millington 150 to hear my snore and say, "Wow, that's impressive." Odds on a similar feat are 3 to 1.

Igor oughta sell tickets for a view into his L I V I N. Personally...I'd buy at least one.

Have the refs been wearing black pants all year? I think they look....I'm not sure how they look...kinda like something I'd find my dad wearing who coincidentally is here...in Fla....with my mom...love both dearly...been here 3 nights with at least 3 to go....think "costanza"

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I were as hung as I am hung over, I'd be the most popular guy in town.

SI ran a great article on the whole Divac/Petrovic thing some time ago. Probably 7-8 years ago. There were some really great details about the Yugoslavian team's time training together in the mountains.

I loved Once Brothers too. The clips if the Yugoslav team playing together in various tourneys were awesome. Unreal passing and teamwork.

A colleague continually refers to the US Army, with whom we are trying to do a lot of business, as simply "Army." As in this email excerpt she sent:

"I an now responsible for generating business with Army"

And that's fine, I guess, but anything that makes me draw comparisons between you and Buster Bluth on a daily basis can't be good, right?

Leave em with the kids and tie one on tomorrow afternoon, Dan. At least that's what I'd do if I had kids that I claimed and parents who liked me enough to come visit me.

Danimal said...

hmmm...ok.

Buster Bluth = most under-rated sitcom character of our generation.

Hey Brother.
