Happy Dave Winfield Birthday Day

The big man turns 70 today. Unfortunately, this means he is no longer 69 years old. Let's use the comments section today to talk about how the original Diamond Dave changed your life. Or to talk about anything else.

  1. I know the Texans are awful but at the two minute warning they have 4 yards of total offense including -23 passing yards. I don’t recall ever seeing the Bills’ defense dominate like this.

  2. Eyes on Winfield, Z. It keeps your attention away from the tent TR is pitching when he reads this post.

My kid got back on the soccer pitch for the first time since injuring a calf four weeks ago. He had 6-9 runs in a row down the left side in the second half and he was d-u-n after that.

  4. Had a great weekend with Dave on the Jersey Shore. Not much beats old friends.

  5. Live from Toledo Ohio. It is as good as you could imagine.

Besides Mark, who we rooting for?

  6. Jets, Pats and Fins are all 1-3. So much for the AFC East being good this year.

  7. I'm outraged too, Z. I always thought Roger Moore was hated in that role. I liked him ok, as he was the first Bond I watched.

  8. Preposterous. Of course Connery is #1. Indisputable. Rank the others where you will.

    Timothy Dalton is often underrated.

  9. He was my first Bond too (Octopussy).

  11. great two night/one day vacation with whit and my high school buddies.

winfield is probably my favorite athlete. smooth, chill, and i saw him hit a line drive homer over the green monster and saw him throw the ball up close at yankee stadium-- slightly more epic than whit and i throwing the wabobo in a serious riptide saturday-- but only slightly more epic.

  12. I think it’s actually Waboba, but then again Dave has known the buddy that hosted us this weekend since childhood and still spells his name wrong.

  13. Raiders… 4 possessions. 3 3-and-outs and a 4-and-out turnover on downs. Remarkable.
