Sunday Morning Music

It's been four long years since Haim released their first record, Days Are Gone. Their single, 'The Wire', was one of the best songs of 2013, a killer mix of 70s guitars, sisterly harmonies, and driving , insistent beat.

The sisters that make up the band, Este, Danielle, and Alana, have been teasing a new record of late, and just dropped a new video. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, 'Right Now', displays a far more spare version of Haim than the one to which listeners have become accustomed. But for a Sunday morning recovery, it's about perfect.

And just for kicks, here's 'The Wire', live on Saturday Night Live from November 2013:

I saw that video! Very cool, but no nude Rollergirl.

Looks like Sean McDermott made a big power play. Not sure the timing is optimal.

Rollergirl's first nude scene might be he most powerful imagery ever captured on film.

I think the timing is OK for him--he can blame this draft on Whaley if it doesn't pan out.

what does nude rollergirl have to do with this?

i really don't like the way that band sounds-- not sure why but they rub me the wrong way.

random thought of day...work side by side w/a guy and have for about 20 years...i don't think he's ever dropped a deuce in the restroom here in our building - on a shared floor, or in any other public restroom. he's one of those guys...not judging really but just think it's odd. anyone else here in that same bucket of folks? i'll hang up now.

Ayrton Senna died 23 years ago today. If you want to learn how to double clutch or heel-and-toe ... while wearing Italian loafers in a RHD car ... watch this video.

Also, I had never heard of this band or song prior to just now.

danimal, i prefer home games, and as such very rarely use public facilities for my crapping needs. i've got a finely tuned system that knows go time is the 15 minutes after I get home from work.

Or Senna. Thanks GTB.

I'm similar, but different as in the opposite...it's typically about 15 minutes after I get to work in the a.m. Certainly on those occasions where you have to work late or head to a post-work din din, you'll adapt. I don't think my guy does...he simply does not, will not do it.

I too prefer home field advantage, given my glorious Toto toilet, but I can TCB at work when necessary. I do, however, use the paper ass gaskets when pooping outside zhome. Some people think that's prissy. And that's fine with me.

I'm still in New Orleans wreaking havoc on my innards. Got after it with Team Marls last night. Humdinger.

And I met the girls from Haim briefly at Outside Lands festival in SF a few years ago. They seem fun.

Danimal said...

Have you used a public restroom to a #2 there in NO?

I believe Whit has his own private stall at Igor's.

Danimal said...

sorry..."to do a #2" but you know what I meant.

I took the browns to the super bowl last night at the Chart Room in the quarter. I may need some penicillin.

I drop deuces w/ aplomb wherever I am. Having grown up in the gutters of New Jersey (like Skid Row), I am comfortable w/ filth. That's why I'm friends w/ Zman and Marls.

I just crushed some of my kids' Easter candy, and there's no way they won't notice. Gonna be hard to pin this one on the missus.

Simmons and The Ringer were brutally honest that they thought the Spurs wouldn't be close against the Rockets. They are looking smart tonight, with Houston up 35 in the 3rd qtr.

And they maybe right in saying we all underestimated the job Kawhi did to get that team to 60+ wins.
