Thirty three years later, to the day, and I still get goosebumps (and a little bit choked up) when I see the U.S. chip the puck past the blue line and hear Al Michaels say, "Do you believe in miracles? Yes!".
As Michaels says towards the end of this clip, no words are necessary. Nor are they adequate to describe the greatest sports story of our lifetime.
Enjoy, and Happy Miracle Day.

BEAT THOSE COMMIE BASTARDS
You're gonna go out and lost to a bunch of fucking Fins?

Jam a Koho down his throat!!!
Dear Abby:
I just finished the recent SNL w/ Alabama Shakes, a band this blog has promoted. As much as the tunes piqué my interest in soulful, muddy blues rock, I find the lead singer to be amazingly distracting. It makes me feel shallow and sexist, but she is unbelievably hard on the eyes and her mouth is disturbingly large. Perhaps this isn't sexist, because I probably would've been just as grossed out by Meatloaf on a bender back in the day.
I can't fathom the idea of seeing them up close in person. Am I immature? Or are they a band best suited for visionless enjoyment on an iPod?
Please advise.
Drunk on a train from day drinking in Hoboken since 2 PM,

"if you lose this game, you'll take it to your fucking graves. your fucking graves."
TR,
Sounds like you have some soul searching to do. Maybe check out Grace Potter from a spot near the stage.
I like the Shakes OK, but it just doesn't quite hit the mark for me.
But I also sat around playing some tunes the other night and realized after about six of them that the average age was 100.
mr kq just sent an email with a photo of him and gheorghe. he's having a better night than we are.
Speak for yourself, homely.
don't sleep on the billikens, boys and girls. 21-5, 10-2, first place in the a-10, after a win at butler this evening.
I never sleep on the Billikens. My old man is an alum of St. Louis University High. The Junior Billikens.
They're really good this year. Trounced Butler at home and a second win tonight. Get ready for some sappy stories about the inspiration provided by Rick Majerus' death.
Me no likey the Warriors' uniforms.
I just slept for 10 hours on a fluffy pile of Billikens.
