Not Your Average Jimmy

Nels Cline is in. Keith Richards would be, too, if they'd asked him. TV on the Radio is on board. A little bit of Bob Marley, some Talking Heads, maybe. As yet another randomly placed Music Month winds down, soon to be replaced with next month's Music Month, we bring you Tinariwen, dropping science straight from North Africa. A reminder that rhythm, blues, and beat are universal things. Tassili, Tinariwan's new album, drops next Tuesday. Tell your friends, and revel in your worldbeat superiority.

Let me know, son.

In other CFB news, I dont love the Nike Pro Combat unis that Boise State's wearing against UGA (dont hate them either) but Oregon's duds for the LSU game are bad ass.

teej - based on what i am currently looking at which is the surf at jax beach, you don't need to leave tonight 'lil breezy. righteous waves though.

portland, or - have been to that fine yet super liberal city a number of times. i like it. i almost had my first, only, and last 3-some there back in the early part of decade so i must say the rankings must be pretty accurate. i've been to 8 of the other towns and some many times and can state that at no time did a 3-some ever become a possibility. and no, not the 2-guy/1-gal kind. unfortunately, this one time the opportunity presented itself, danimal crashed & burned and ended up w/a 1-some.

Yeah, going to leave tomorrow morning sometime...and arrive home just in time for some quality rain and winds in DC.

Um, you fellas in NJ/NY might get pwned.

Waves are supposed to get to 16' down here tonight. It's pretty shitty here right now. Decent wind, lots of gusts and sheets of rain. And Irene is 200+ miles off the coast. This bitch aint playing.

the yankees got a little bit annoyed about going down 6 runs to the a's this afternoon, didn't they?

Boys, I'm in Norfolk, VA, where this bitch Irene could make landfall. Wish me luck. As I told Rob tonight, We're starting the hurricane party now. F it.

The fetching lass co-starring is Amber Heard, who may be the sexiest lesbian this side of Lea DeLaria.

Ran out of Dale's Pale Ale on Nght 1 of IreneFest 2011. Must hit the store again. Now THAT is bad hurricane planning.

I finally got a chance to listen to the videos in the post ... really good stuff.

i know. what the fuck's wrong with the rest of you morons?

Marls said...

Well, the Mayor just kicked me out of my apt. This sucks.

zman said...

That's what you get with your fancy digs on the East River.

I predict that this NYC freak out is going to end up being amongst the most overblown weather emergencies ever. By the time this hurricane gets up to NYC after passing over land from NC on, winds will be down near 70, or lower, and most of these evacuations will prove pointless.

You'd be surprised how often that the case with hurricanes. I've never evacuated beyond leaving my barrier island and going a few miles inland and I've never regretted it.
