It's a Friday, there is basketball on tonight, and Spring might be arriving in the Nation's Capitol (maybe. kinda. sorta). What does all that mean? Absolutely nothing. But enjoy this peeps diorama of JaVale McGee's participation in the dunk contest many moons ago (man, people have too much free time):

coppin state let fang mitchell go today. booooo, coppin state.
ReplyDeletemark, chris walker had a really strong short stretch in the first half last night (then i fell asleep). realistically, is that the ceiling for him right now, or do you expect more during this tournament?
ReplyDeleteI hope Louisville beats Kentucky by 40 tonight.
ReplyDeleteamen to that
ReplyDeleteI think last night is about the most to expect from Walker. He's the 5th guy in Florida's frontcourt rotation and best suited as a spark plug at this point. The contributions of he and Kasey Hill were huge though.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to take this time to say reports of my gang ties are completely untrue. No need to release me from G:TB.
ReplyDeleteNas is playing at the Kennedy Center tonight and tomorrow night. What the eff, DC are Gheorghies?
ReplyDeleteQuiet night. Everybody saving their mojo for Zmanfest tmrw night?
ReplyDeletebummed to miss zcelebration. take lots of candid photographs.
ReplyDeletethis is an awful endgame by michigan
ReplyDeleteThis Mich Tenn finish has some potential.
ReplyDeleteI say bullshit offensive foul call there with 6 seconds left. Overly aggressive call when it wasn't needed.
ReplyDeleteWow. Never seen a team that didn't foul all half screwed over so royally for it.
ReplyDeleteThat was a terrible makeup call against Tennessee. Even I see that and fucking hate Tennessee. With that said, not sure why they inbounded and ran iso for Stokes there. Get it to McRae, Michigan had no answer for him late.
ReplyDeleteZman turning 40 or something? If I'd have known I'd have tried to get Action Bronson to show up at his party and do a set.
ReplyDeleteMark I assumed the trip was too far for an internet boyfriend you've met once before. Still time to catch a flight to Newark ...
ReplyDeleteZ, I'm sorry I'm not there. Casualty of a divorcee dad, when you have a chance to hang with the daughters you gotta take it.
ReplyDeleteBut now I'm drinking beer and ready to root on the Spartans against the local faves UVA.
Probably the right call. I did go to TJ's wedding after only meeting him twice in person.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. You're old.
I can't argue with those priorities.
ReplyDeleteYeah but Teedge's wedding held the promise of bacon.
ReplyDeleteTracey Wolfsohn bought her blouse from Estelle Getty's estate sale.
ReplyDeleteHeld the promise? Um, we brought the bacon, sir.
ReplyDeleteThat MSG crowd is gonna be drunk as hell. Folks in UVA gear were boozing early today. Very jealous. Would've been an intriguing doubleheader ticket if you could get in the building for under $400.
ReplyDeleteRe: Kentucky, Teej might get his wish.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday zman.
Michigan State looks really composed early. As long as they don't go into a typical UVA-induced lull for an extended period in the first half, I like their chances.
ReplyDeleteWe get Raf for this UVA loss...blessed
ReplyDeleteRuss Smith: big set of balls, funny set of ears.
ReplyDeleteYou can't underestimate the job by Calipari of getting his young team settled. His team was close to getting run out of the gym early.
ReplyDeleteBasketball jerseys should not have sleeves. Louisville looks like they're wearing undershirts.
ReplyDeleteThat foul Harrison took was a great play.
ReplyDeleteTook should be drew. Whatever.
ReplyDeleteKentucky apparently borrowed a cheerleader from W&M.
ReplyDeleteHey music fans. Palladia showing a guitar festival at 11PM ET: Clapton, ZZ Top, Robert Randolph, Derek Trucks and more. DVR that crap.
ReplyDeleteZman - if you hate the sleeves, avoid the Knicks-Suns game at all costs. Will be cute when the Knicks end the season a game out of the playoffs.
ReplyDelete9th place y'all!
ReplyDeleteI'd love Louisville's unis without the sleeves. Sleeves don't belong in basketball.
ReplyDeleteTR's right. Calipari kept his young team from melting down. And lost Cauley-Stein. And it's a one possession game.
To your point on TJ's wedding I'll add a weekend hanging out with Greg. Im always good for that.
ReplyDeleteKentucky's gonna win.
ReplyDeleteUVA-Michigan St is a good game. Louisville-Kentucky just feels bigger. Saying something since the former is being played in MSG.
ReplyDeleteHappy to have two TVs mounted into the living room.
Luke Hancock is really good. He'd have a averaged 20+' a game if he had stayed at George Mason.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they can pull this out, but this is my favorite UVA hoops squad ever. Weird to see dudes in those unis gettin after it like that.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I know there is plenty of UVA hate around here but I like Tony Bennett. And Joe Harris.
ReplyDeletedamn, gheorghies, that was a fun night of hoops. wish joe harris could shoot free throws.
ReplyDeleteas much as i hate to admit it, uva is on the rise. tony bennett is terrific. matched coaching wits with izzo and got the game played to his terms. too much payne and dawson. if bennett gets his own version of those guys, look out.
Tough loss for the 'Hoos, but they were ballin to the end.
ReplyDeleteNow Barkley is doin live tv with a lozenge in his mouth, and it seems to be numbing his tongue.
I figured out how to McGuyver a ghetto Sonos system together using old stereo parts. How loud should the secondary music source at a pig roast be? Is a Sounddock enough or should I dig out my old college stereo that rootsy remembers fondly?
ReplyDeleteNew post up.
