I googled "Sunday morning in New Orleans"...

...and proving google already has a way to tap into our puny human brains and read our minds, this was what popped up first.

Now to go find some more Abita flavors...maybe an AM Ale?

The teej. Had been struggling mightily trying to remember an establishment there where I and others, including fogtb Buck, enjoyed a nice little hunker down. Your earlier post did it.....I'm pretty sure its called Absinthe.....great bloody's.

T.J. said...

Yep - I think the Absinthe Bar was on Igor's list of recommendations as well.

Which two should I start?
Beanie Wells (ARI) or LeSean McCoy (PHL) or Donald Brown (IND)?

mayhugh said...

Anybody heard the legend of the Commodores picking their name by opening up the dictionary and blindly pointing to a definition? They were pretty close to being called the "Commodes".

rob said...

just saw the zenyatta race. that was something else. mike smith blamed himself after the race. he might be right.

T.J. said...

Brown and McCoy.

T.J. said...

That horse race was unbelievably exciting and dramatic.

fernando torres just scored as pretty a goal as you'd ever want to see for liverpool. john w henry seems to be a good influence.

Six inch subway metball sub...breakfast of champions.

Danimal said...

can we get a few more chris christie's in govt?

Squeaky said...

I thought little chocolate donuts and cigarettes was the breakfast of champions.

Mark said...

You're all wrong. Meth is the breakfast of champions. Duh.

i've been off the net for a few days so this is a little late-- but igor, you really need to see "the fisher king." i know you've been holding out all these years, and trying to hang on to those "people under the stairs" memories, but enough is enough.

What's wrong with a hot cup of coffee and a papal election?

So, Brad Childress is getting fired tomorrow, huh? Or will Wilf pull the trigger after (or maybe during) the game? they look awful.

T.J. said...

Survivor pool update: fuck you Minnesota. Fuck you brett favre. Fuck you soon-to-be fired Brad Childress.

mayhugh said...

I have ever confessed how much I like Haloti Ngata? Seriously, that guy is awesome.

T.J. said...

Well, even if I had picked the Jets it looks like they're shitting the bed too.

mayhugh said...

Peyton Hillis: Fantasy savior on a day MJD has a bye.

mayhugh said...

Houston is absolutely snakebit. The normally sure-handed Andre Johnson knee'd the ball to a DB. Looks like another 7-9/8-8 season is in their future.

Mark said...

Tampa did nearly everything necessary to beat Atlanta today. Came up a yard short. Even with the loss, the Bucs should be very encouraged. Young, talented and tough. I like this team more every time I watch them.

T.J. said...

Fav-rah saving me and a season?

Mark said...

And don't look now but Favre just dragged Minnesota back into the game against Arizona. 36-45 for 424 yards. 2 4th Q TDs. Game tied at 24.

mayhugh said...

TJ - Peterson just gave you a present.

Danimal said...

your jets are in a good one too

rob said...

this is going to be a turrrible loss for the lions

Danimal said...

no way indy wins with these uni's...

Jerry said...

Giants.

rob said...

i appreciate that the result was fairly gruesome, but that was not a particularly bad hit on collie.

mayhugh said...

Phil Simms giving some good analysis on that hit, too.

mayhugh said...

I agree it wasn't a particularly bad hit, but you have to love Philly fans booing the call when Collie hadn't yet moved.

Jerry said...

How was Donald Brown a 1st round pick? He doesn't seem to do anything particularly well and RB is not a difficult position to scout.

mayhugh said...

I hate, hate, HATE the Eagles, but that was a crap penalty against them on 4th down. Correct by the rulebook, but shouldn't be enforced there.

T.J. said...

Uh oh, I have begun taking shots...

WHO DAT!

zman said...

I can't wait for the Cowboys to fire Wade Phillips so that Ralph Wilson can hire him back next season after he fires Chan Gailey and the rest of his 0-16 staff.

T.J. said...

Igor, Hotel Monteleone...good call.

T.J. said...

The Old Absinthe House is rocking James Brown.

T.J. said...

Hey wow dude, you played CCR...nice use of a NOLA jukebox. Douche-arama.

T.J. said...

The sing sing bar? Ike and tina? Prud mary? Teej martin sheen meltdown?

zman said...

Wade Phillips is totally going to be the next coach in Buffalo:

Phillips, who admitted that the Cowboys played like a poorly coached team, avoided a question about whether he expects to be fired.

"I'm not into all of that," Phillips said. "I don't even know who we play next. I was focused on this game."

Teej--you didn't tell us that you were hanging out with Reeg & Kelly Ripa this weekend! I love Kelly.

Clarence said...

Teej, did you make it to the Garden District at all?

Clarence said...

And are you still breathing?

T.J. said...

Igor, I've hit 6 to 9 of the items on your list, so yes, I've made it to the Garden District.

Danimal said...

my theory is that this olbermann thing was all pre-meditated for ratings. just sayin.

T.J. said...

Tribe is #1 in 1-AA poll? Fuck and yeah.

mayhugh said...

Where are you getting this from, Teej? I'm only seeing the rankings from 11/1, which have Tribe 4th.

T.J. said...

The twitter told me.

Squeaky said...

Twitter is right.

perfect timing as they head into the premiere 'burg of virginia. that's right. what's the word? harrisonburg!
the dukes at 1-5 in the conference and losers of 4 in a row, have nothing to play for, that is unless you count going against the #1 team in the us of a on their home turf.
with 4 of the 5 losses decided by a touchdown or less, i think we'll have another good one. wade philips might even show up.

Dave said...

i must not be a true giants fan because i was rooting for the seahawks to keep the score close yesterday-- maybe because it's the first giants game i got to watch uninterrupted by having to coach a pee-wee soccer game or a broadcast dispute.

T.J. said...

I loved New Orleans. This airport however is the biggest clusterfuck I've ever seen. Security line is an hour long. I think I see Wade Phillips wanding people.

Clarence said...

Say hi to Bobby Hebert if you see him.

mayhugh said...

Happy trails, Wade...

Tribe is 55 in the Sagarin rankings, 4 spots ahead of Notre Dame.
