I grew up with the Beatles playing in the background. I'm a fan. You probably are too so you should watch "McCartney 3, 2, 1" on Hulu.
Paul McCartney and Rick Rubin hang out in front of a mixing board and talk about how various McCartney songs were inspired, written, and recorded. Sometimes they isolate individual tracks and McCartney explains how that particular aspect of the song came to be. It's great.
There's no introduction to the series, no throat-clearing explanation of who these guys are, no hackneyed diatribe about the music or the musician's importance. It isn't necessary--everyone knows the deal.
Each of the six episodes is only 30 minutes long so it doesn't require a big time commitment, and I guarantee you'll enjoy watching two old dudes geek out on music. The reaction when Rubin drops "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" in episode 1 sets the tone. Check it out.

giannis, indeed, got 50
From the NBA Stats twitter account:
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the 1st player in NBA Finals history to average 30+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ assists on at least 60% shooting.
35.2 PPG
13.2 RPG
5.0 APG
61.8 FG%
I fell asleep at halftime and woke up when the game was over. Sounds like I missed the more entertaining half.
Also, I just saw an ad for a vintage hot dogger for sale at a thrift store near my office. Anyone want me to pick it up for them?
Wisconsin does not rank high among my favorite states, but I'm very happy for Giannis. His performance, coming after a nearly devastating knee injury, was an all-timer.
Rubin's interview with Marc Maron on the WTF podcast was pretty interesting.
i switched away from the nba finals to watch the elam ending portion of the challenge als/aftershocks tbt game. it was worth the ticket price. challenge led by two going in to the elam ending, then got to within three points of the target score ahead by two. aftershocks hit a three to get within two of the target, and then both teams had at least four possessions with a chance to win. aftershocks defended everything at the three-point line and challenge never adjusted. eventually, conner frankamp hit a three to give aftershocks the win. super fun watch, and the 15,000+ in the stands in wichita made it all the more so.
I'm familiar with the shocker but not the aftershock.
finding out that st vincent can hoop a little bit was probably the revelation of the nba finals for me.
I too am watching a lot of the TBT. I caught the ending of the Aftershocks game on my phone. I watched Florida TNT upset Eberlein Drive in an epic comeback live though. Twas a nice appetizer for the NBA Finals. TBT is really, really fun.
This Rubin / Macca stuff is way deep up my alley. Ew. Thanks for spreading the word, Z.
Tucker Carlson’s son is named Buckley!?!? As if I couldn’t hate the guy any more…
After William F., I assume, and he has some incredibly nepotistic job working for Jim Banks's Comms Director.
Sorry, working *as* Banks's Comms Director. Kid graduated from UVa in 2019 and he's running communications for a congressman.
for a shitty big lie-promoting congressman, at that. super family, those carlsons.
I'm a lover, not a fighter, but it would be hard to not feel an overwhelming urge to punch Buckley Carlson in the face. For his name alone, his lineage notwithstanding.
His brother is named Buckley
Buckley, Tuckley - stop fighting over the bow ties!
