Progress Is On The Ballot

I've struggled for a while, probably for this entire cycle, to articulate the reasons why I'm voting for Hillary Clinton. I mean, I'm unequivocally voting against Donald Trump, for reasons that are self-evident to anyone that knows me. But when I saw this ad a few days ago, it fell into place for me.

I'm voting for Hillary Clinton because she's a continuation of the progress that I believe President Obama has made. And because she's a direct repudiation of the strategy of obstructionism, cynicism, and yes, racism, that the modern GOP employs. I don't love everything about her, but I'm with her.

I'm with her because of him.

Listen, people. Don't sit on this enormous election. I know it's felt uncomfortable to have this election shoved in your face, especially as you know this huge election is coming soon. Good citizens, your future rides on the election in your hands, so suck it up. If you can . . . I'm telling you, this election is hedgehoggedly monstrous.

Now back to your regularly scheduled non-dipshittery.

Such a nasty hedgehog.

My speechwriter wouldn't let me use the words "throbbing" or "veiny." Clarence doesn't take kindly to being censored.

Other words and phrases on the list I was given during this campaign:

"caucus succor"
"see you Super Tuesday"
"campaignal"
"I want to get into that electorate"

I didn't know that the p-word could be uttered on broadcast television until this election, so I definitely learned something useful.

no "bigly"?

i believe that the venerable new york times used 'fuck' in print recently, too. also in the context of this shitshow/election.

If you really want this election to go away, think about baseball. Go Cubs.

Is he saying "bigly" or "big-league"? It isn't clear. "Think about baseball" works for Woody Allen, maybe I'll give it a try.

It also worked for Lt. Frank Drebin.

Just drove behind a Tesla Model X P90D. Car looks a like weird to me. Taller but not very wide.

Next time you're in Orlando (I guess technically it's some neighborhood in Orlando called Winter Park), you should go.

Danimal said...

Awwright. I drive through there about a dozen times per year so should be able to make that happen.

Read an old email back when we used to keep Angry Man stats. 41 walks in 33 innings. Wow, did we not have a bullpen.

Winter Park, home to Rollins College. Where each of my parents matriculated. And met each other. Thereby enabling the creation of Whitney.

Was there in Feb with family. Nice campus.

Al Smith dinner on zTV. I'm voting for Maria Bartiromo. Good gravy.

In baseball as in Ryder Cup as in all too many sports, exciting but ultimately not extraordinary plays are accompanied by celebratory, ferociously defiant and in-everyone's-face howls. You did your job well in the 4th inning. It's why you're overcompensated. Do shut up and get back to business, please.
