Where's Igor?

Our hero is gallivanting about the globe before he returns to polite society and joins the rest of us in our numbing workaday routines.  That may have come out wrong.

In any case, see if you can guess where he is this afternoon.  There's one fairly big hint in the picture below.

Is this what the porch of College Delly looks like now? Where are the white plastic lawn chairs and tables?

Wow, I sound old.

Squeaky said...

It's been far too long since I stepped foot in the Deli. Got to be seven years.

anyone remember this woman: http://flathatnews.com/blog/53/newsroom/75861

seems waaay out of character from the typical w&m student i remember.

Mark said...

He's at William & Mary. More specifically, the College Delly. A place where I was propositioned by a gay bartender. No, really.

Mark said...

Dave. Saw your comment about listening to Uneasy Listening. Sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as I do. We can fight about it when I see you and Rob in November. By the way, when exactly are you two going to be in Orlando?

T.J. said...

What the fuck happened to College Delly?

mayhugh said...

Apparently doing much better if they are putting money into the porch. i guess that happens when there are no fraternities on campus that serve alcohol.

rob said...

mark - we're there from nov 3 - 8.

zman said...

They have booze now? And three different beers on tap? Classy.

rob said...

i was more impressed by the outside bar, z. they've had booze and better beer inside for several years now.

rob said...

and according to igor, dean finally sold out to george, the guy who owns paul's. there's a little logic puzzle for you.

zman said...

It would be a flippin' shame if she lost her license over this.

nice roadie for the tribe, 20-16 over villanova.

As the guy in charge of blue-eyed soul around here, check out Allen Stone. His new album comes out on Tuesday. He sounds vaguely like Stevie Wonder.

rob said...

typical republican, can't hold her liquor

Mark said...

Public intoxication is such a crap crime. Isn't public intoxication at least half the reason bars exist?

Greg said...

That does look like a good makeover for the back porch.

rob said...

fogtb buck is at today's ohio state game. shame his wife couldn't get a job at a school in a more entertaining conference.

rob said...

miami and bethune-cookman are playing on the infield dirt in south florida. didn't the marlins' season end 4 days ago?

T.J. said...

Tough, tough loss for the Naval Academy today.

Dave said...

mark and rob-- i will be in orlando november 5th through the 12th. i did love hearing "rhinestone cowboy" on uneasy listening but i like my mash-ups more mashed up.

got a book out of the library about how to visit disney world so that i can avoid nervous breakdown from over-stimulus.

Mark said...

Uneasy Listening is a really old album, Dave. It kind of invented the mashup genre. That's why I say it's the best ever.

Jerry said...

This Ingram guy might be the most exciting college DL of all time. He does everything.

Mark said...

He is pretty awesome. Imagining him as a high school tailback is frightening.

T.J. said...

He reminds me of Penn State Lavar Arrington

Jerry said...

TJ, you want to go to a bar tonight?

T.J. said...

I'm a bit tired and under the weather and want to focus on Yanks tonight, so probably not. However, I have scheduled a full day of Sunday Ticket NFL watching with Greg tomorrow if you want in on that...I'm thinking Joe Kickass has some good Dubai stories for us.

Jerry said...

Greg is here?

T.J. said...

He apparently landed at 6am today after 13 hour flight from Dubai...he went over there to visit his brother

T.J. said...

Weird Al has a special on Comedy Central tonight? What year is this?

Mark said...

He's on tour right now too. Weird Al, not Greg.

T.J. said...

Nice loss by South Carolina. Yikes.

The announcers for the Auburn-Cocks game were horrible. There were 2 seconds left when the Cocks receiver went to his knee. No idea why the officials decided the game was over, and the announcers were not remotely tuned in. I feel bad for my boy Garcia.

I am 25 miles from the Bronx and it has been pouring for the last 69 minutes. It will be a miracle if they get this game in.

zman said...

Fozzie Whittaker is someone's name?

Mark said...

I believe his full name is Fosworth. No, really. He's been at Texas for approximately 7 years.

Donna said...

Okay, first, ditto, those of you who've asked what the heck happened to College?

Second, since when do frats not serve alcohol? (Can you tell I'm a bit out of the W&M loop?)

And third, I'd bet money on this...the woman cited, on BofV, she was in our class at W&M...maybe you should just pull that, Rob, for the classnotes this time.

Enjoy the game tonight...if they play!

Mark said...

Andre. Debose.

Mark said...

Let the record show that I was appropriately worried about the Alabama screen game.

rob said...

will muschamp is an excitable young man

rob said...

that's some fiiiishy shit on the fumble

Mark said...

Say goodbye to Florida's season. It could've been a good senior year for John Brantley.

Mark said...

Rob...you can't be serious. Brantley fumbled. Had his hand on it while laying on the ground. The Bama defender reached in an ripped it out. I fail to see what you and Gary Danielson are missing.

Mark said...

I'm guessing that Rob is taking it easy on me right now. I appreciate that. After that Brantley injury, I'm pretty fragile.

rob said...

the fishy part was the officials' reaction - they had no idea what to do, and by not blowing the whistle left it open to question.

Mark said...

I agree that the officials were as indecisive as possible. Just a little surprised that Danielson & Lundquist can't figure it out on the replay.

rob said...

donna - that woman was indeed in our class. the very picture of an uptight w&m stereotype. if she'd only visited unit m once or twice, all of this could've been avoided.

rob said...

hey verne, driskel's not coming off the bench to play for bama

Greg said...

Hopefully the College Deli still has that great rugby painting.

rob said...

danielson just said what i was thinking - bama's totally lost focus with brantley out

Mark said...

He's right. It doesn't matter though. Driskel is a hell of an athlete. But he's beyond raw. As evidenced by that busted play.

T.J. said...

Ivan Nova stepped up huge tonight for the Yankees. And Robinson Cano is a beast.

Now back to rob and Mark discussing Florida and Alabama...

TR said...

Wisconsin is quietly making a big statement. Between the Badgers and the Brew Crew, it's a great sports day for Wisconsin.

Mark said...

I don't want to discuss anything. We have an 18 year old playing QB.

TR said...

Marls and I were discussing Verne Lundquist last week. The best description we came upfaith for his old carcass is a small meatball sitting on top of a big meatball.

rob said...

dear god, aj. can we not throw wild late into the middle?

rob said...

upfaith, from the up with people glossary?

rob said...

damn, great run, perfectly blocked

TR said...

Is there one good game in any sport going on right now?

Danimal said...

Bama focused there

T.J. said...

Fresno St/Miss St?

T.J. said...

I'm looking for the UCLA/Stanford game on my cable

TR said...

Florida is at LSU next week? Brutal stretch.

rob said...

rugby world cup? cupcake wars?

Mark said...

The thought of Jeff Driskel at QB for the rest of the year really bums me out.

TR said...

Badgers' O-line averages 6-5", 322 lbs. Impressive by NFL standards.

T.J. said...

Stanford just scored a TD on a nifty one handed catch by a bro

Danimal said...

I hope bama continues to lose focus.

Mark said...

TR - Florida goes to Auburn the week after that. And then to Jacksonville for Georgia. October is gonna be awesome!!

Danimal said...

Yeah....me too.

It is weird that of all these great matchups we got nothing. Even notre dame is providing a stress free evening.

TR said...

'87 NBA all-star game on. Tight battle. Kareem, Barkley, Dr J.

Danimal said...

Tr. ..One of those tv chumps said that wi offensive line bigger than packers. A

rob said...

mccarron appears to be another in the long line of effective game managers that have been successful at alabama. jay barker approves.

Mark said...

Florida's season has taken on a much darker them after tonight. I expected a loss. I did not expect starting an 18 year old QB from October on...

ate a delicious leftover taco for lunch today . . .

I love hyperbole. Worst call by a referee ever in the giants game. Ever. Gave the game to the giants. Worst I have ever seen.

Mark said...

The Arrested Development comeback is pretty fucking awesome.

Danimal said...

Saw that....nice.

New drink: firefly and lemonade....I recommend low sugar lemonade for a less sweet concoction. The drinkability is there.

rob said...

what was the call in the jints game?

rob said...

why haven't we celebrated john axford's facial hair? is it because he plays in milwaukee? that shit is spectacular.

zman said...

I found a salamander on the side of my house today. It wasn't a leftover salamander.

Exceptionally lopsided offensive stats in the Ravens/Jest tilt.

TR said...

The story the NBC announcers are missing is that the reason Baxter went back in at center is bcause Vlad Ducasse is such a train wreck at guard. Total bust as a second-round pick.

Whitney said...

The giants call: with 3 and change to go in the 4th, down 4, the giants WR catches the ball, evades a tackle, and slips attempting to juke. Falls down. Releases the ball, begins to head back to the huddle. Untouched. Cardinals fall on the ball. Easy replay call. Woulda put a serious hurting on them.

Except that the referee ruled that the receiver "gave himself up" and is down, unchallengeable. As in he took a knee, went down on purpose.

And if you have ever in your life watched 5 or 10 football
games you know that there was no possible way he would have declared himself down after catching a ball down 4 points. Made no sense. Dumbest call ever.
