Quandary

Loyal readers, we are soliciting your help in solving a problem faced by one of this blog's authors. For confidentiality reasons, we will call him "RT".

RT asks your thoughts on this topic. He wants to know what is the bigger problem. Having a 4 year-old son who prefers suppository medicines to drinkable medicines, or having a 4 year-old son who will only accept suppositories from his father, not his mother.

Please use the "Comments" tool to respond. Thank you!

we need cris carter to record a 'c'mon man' for circumstances such as this

Dave said...

how did "suppository" even become an option for this child?

This post could use a Weenie tag.

at least he doesn't swallow. yet.

Jay Caspian Kang will someday be an outstaning writer. He turns out one little gem per column. Today, hidden in a footnote, is a gem of sentence summarizing all that I hated about Billy Packer. That my volumetrically large dislike of Packer could be captured in one sentence is proof of its gem status.

rob said...

shame there's no way for you to share that sentence with us. somebody needs to invent some sort of easy linking capability for the internet.

awww, yeah

it was a shame. went to grantland forgetting z said "footnote"....went thru the whole f'ing article looking for it. then found at end of course.

you must choose 1: watching a hoops game, who would you rather have to listen to - Billy P or Dickie V?

rob said...

dickie v, and it's not even close. give me enthusiasm over dickishness every time.

Danimal said...

was listening to pga tour network one night last week. cuz, well, i'm a tool. billy's son is a producer for golf channel and was being interviewed on john maginnes' show. apparently "Dickie V" was a 4-letter word in the Packer household. the air of superiority was heaveeee.

I agree with rob. It's completely inappropriate to tear apart a group of children (freshman are only 18 for god's sake) for any reason, let alone for something as inconsequential as their athletic abilities. And Packer called Iverson a monkey during a Big East tournament game. At least Vitale is positive.

Kent Hull died yesterday?!

d-train said...

it is difficult for me. packer is a penis, no question. vitale in my opinion is good people. but i think i'd prefer 2.5 hours of hoops w/ packer rather than dv. if i had the choice of meeting & hanging with, i'd pick dickie. but that's just me. carry on with your day people.

I'll take Packer. At least he has some content.

Speaking of content, where's that World Series preview? Does anybody even watch the World Series anymore?

rob said...

rangers in 5.

how's that, jerry?

Jerry said...

Let's go Rangers. Nice game in Vancouver last night scoring 4 in the 3rd to get the win. Lundqvist was spectacular. The slightly upgraded MSG opens up a week from tomorrow.

Wanna know why I don't go to homecoming? It's because I get emailed shit like this:

rob said...

can we make a pact not to need to use the 'suppositories' tag again?

KQ said...

I did find it funny that this conversation went from "suppository" to "Packer" in only 5 comments.

These comments are rectilinear, bordering on banal.

You guys crack me up. I'm laying prostrate on the floor laughing my ass off.

I watched the last two innings of the world series game last night. I was nonplussed.

So the school can't have a cross in the Wren Chapel but it can have a bunch a cappella singers in cheesy white t-shirts making the whole school look even more dorky than it normally is. No justice.
