"In your life, have you seen anything like that."

While I'm not rooting for Eldrick this weekend, this is by far the best golf shot I've ever seen.

  1. was he talking about the shot or the "high fives" bet tiger and stevie?

  2. now i remember why i no longer watch or play golf. i nearly poked my eyes out in boredom waiting for that shot-- which was nice-- but they should have a 24 second clock.

  3. the context makes the shot greater than the execution - sunday at the masters, woods up one with dimarco getting ready to putt for birdie from 15 feet. the shot gave him a two-shot lead, which he needed as he bogeyed 17 and 18 to fall into the playoff that he later won.

  4. One of the great unpaid advertisements of all time. The ball slows perfectly as it rolls to allow the camera to focus on the Nike Swoosh. Phil Knight is smart.

    ReplyDelete
  5. 4 1/2 innings of baseball in 2 1/2 hours. sounds about right.

    ReplyDelete
  6. surprisingly, that ball is not in the possession of tigger or stevie...

    ReplyDelete
  7. chirkinian apparently paid 1m/year from the day he "retired" 'til the day he died...

bo van pelt - can't putt...which is too bad otherwise he'd be 2 off lead

    ReplyDelete
  8. is it me or have they not shown cabrera one time? that's f'd up....he's -5 on the day, 4th all alone, and a past winner...and likely winner tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  9. okay...since no response...i'll go out and say it's between k.j. and cabrera....with a gun to the head i'd say k.j.

    ReplyDelete
  10. i like the young irishman tomorrow, danimal

    ReplyDelete
  11. hard not to. rory good. plus he's the co-leader - that doesn't hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  12. although if luke wears apple blossom colors again tomorrow, he's my guy.

    ReplyDelete
  13. i think we'd b ra-tards if we didnt include tiger in the mix

    ReplyDelete
  14. tiger's just a guy right now.

i also like one of the masses at -3 to finish within 2 of the winner. too many of them for one not to make a run.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That 2nd shot at 15 was not by just a guy. Only bc it's Saturday does that shot go unnoticed. And of course bc he missed the putt....he's playing golf....if putts drop tomorrow....

    ReplyDelete
  16. Day's caddy wears 69 so he should win.

    ReplyDelete
  17. that shot was absurd, but he isn't making shit, and those shots have been few and far between.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I will become a big Day fan if he finishes in the top 5...

    ReplyDelete
  19. 3 mos ago I was a big Rory fan and then he started getting a wee bit cocky....even his compatriots McDowell and Westwood told him to shut the f up

    ReplyDelete
  20. Last time I played that hole I chipped it in for birdie and a match won.... :) what a dick.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wow....Rory could run away w dis

    ReplyDelete
  22. If you're a basketball dork like me, check out your local Fox Sports channel for the Nike Hoop Summit. It's USA v. the World and it usually a highly competitive and entertaining event. Last year, it's where I first began to believe in Kyrie Irving and it also featured an epic duel between Enes Kanter and Jared Sullinger. It's also where Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol and Tony Parker first made their names.

  23. i advise those of you hurrying out to the netflix store to rent 'dinner for schmucks' to slow your roll. fabulous cast is wasted on a fairly formulaic plot.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love rob's flow. You should rent black swan. Not a complex story but very well done and natalie portman is preposterously good.

    ReplyDelete
  25. And the pre-masters "river monsters" marathon is a brilliant ideal. I will spend the day watching others fish and golf.

    ReplyDelete
  26. not a lot of scoring out there so far today. bodes well for the young irishman.

    ReplyDelete
  27. tigger -2 after 3....just had a dirty mouth on #4.

the masters website is pretty impressive - did you know you can look at players' scorecards from the previous rounds, select a hole and actually watch video of the player on that hole? not all holes but many - pretty impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  28. mickelson doubles #5 and says bye bye to his remote chance.

    ReplyDelete
  29. rory's getup would not go well with a green jacket...angel's only slightly better

    tigger bogeys 4.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 2 year old said he wanted his momma to take him to pool this afternoon rather than his big daddy - love that kid.

    ReplyDelete
  31. rory bogeys 1st! after a smashing drive and poor 2nd....

    ReplyDelete
  32. 2:55 PM: Tiger nails tee shot on par 3 and Rory shanks first shot on 2nd hole.

    Start of Tiger's rally?

    ReplyDelete
  33. And as I type that, he nails the bird after Rory butchers shot 2 from the trap.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Rory puking all over himself.....he can still par this tho....

    ReplyDelete
  35. My act of production thus far today was showering.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Tiger needs this bird badly. There are a lot of bodies in front of him.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Tigger hitting golf shots again today. If putts start dropping watch ur fingers.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Hear me roar! How bout an eagle on 8?

    ReplyDelete
  39. If Tiger wins, he should feign tears and pledge to donate the winnings to charity.

    ReplyDelete
  40. By the way....major props to Rory for par on 2

    ReplyDelete
  41. That's why the vets usually win this tourney....they remember the breaks vs putt where they think they know its going

    Tiger!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Nice cameo as co-leader for Charl. And Tiger pulls another magical shot out of his bag of tricks.

    ReplyDelete
  43. i love watching cabrera stomp around

    ReplyDelete
  44. excuse me while i go back and erase my earlier comments about tiger.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just a Guy is 5 under after 8

    ReplyDelete
  46. This feels like a major from 6 or 7 years ago. Tiger charging, no one else able to run much. It feels like he's going to win by 2.

    ReplyDelete
  47. So Ronnie Wood is caddying for Rory?

    ReplyDelete
  48. So Ronnie Wood is caddying for Rory?

    ReplyDelete
  49. We have a long way to go. Rory will rebound. What's cool is that this could be one of if not the greatest Masters we'll ever see. It's possible.

    ReplyDelete
  50. We have a long way to go. Rory will rebound. What's cool is that this could be one of if not the greatest Masters we'll ever see. It's possible.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I wasn't gonna go with scotch today, but the Tiger charge is making me re-think things.

    ReplyDelete
  52. A 31 on the front 9 at Augusta????

    ReplyDelete
  53. I feel compelled to join....going w jamesons tho

    ReplyDelete
  54. Am still liking Cabrera here too....guys a fucking grinder

    ReplyDelete
  55. going to see the old 97s tonight - gonna have to catch the last 45 mins of this toonamint on the radio.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Naive question, Danimal, but the back nine is considered the easier of the two, right?

    ReplyDelete
  57. dave rice goes from byu to unlv. cue jokes about his players' ability to pay for sex and not get suspended.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The whole field is wilting. Except Cabrera, only b/c he has been looking chubby and sweaty all week.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yes...at least a shot if not 2 easier

    ReplyDelete
  60. Actually went w the black bush(mills) for obvious reasons....

    ReplyDelete
  61. you have jameson and bushmills in your house? hope you don't keep them close together.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes. But again its Black Bushmills and it is gee oh oh dee good.

    ReplyDelete
  63. And lets not forget about Choyeeeeeee!

    ReplyDelete
  64. One more par here big fella.....and its on like donkey Kong.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't like Tiger but I can't stop rooting for him here.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Tiger is back to being a machine.
    Dammit.
I wanted my BF Adam Scott to have a chance today...

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think tigger just sealed his fate w bogey on 12 and that 2nd shot on 13

    ReplyDelete
  68. not a great stretch for just a guy

    ReplyDelete
  69. Tiger is unfortunately done and we r back to normal programmimg

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hot hot Adam Scott still in it. I just don't see him in there at the end.
How bout a Rory 3-jack here?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sorry. I just said "hot hot Adam Scott". Some wives I know refer to him as that.

Easy to say now but was going to say prior to drive on 10 , Rory bogeys 1-2 of next 3 holes....

    ReplyDelete
  72. Danimal, that is his name. No need to apologize.

    ReplyDelete
  73. double is more than likely for rory here. this thing's wide open.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Tiger will probably beat rory, just not for the win....

    ReplyDelete
  75. did i say double? meant snowman.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Ho-lee shit again.
    Rory just shat a potato.

    ReplyDelete
  77. We could have a 4 man playoff.....

    ReplyDelete
  78. Tiger has to finish as his boy o'meara did years back.....birdie birdie birdie

    ReplyDelete
  79. Scott's Caddie was on Norman's bag in 96....he persuaded Norman to lay up on 15....not too far from where Scott just was....interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Faldo just fucking jinxed him

    ReplyDelete
  81. faldo: "you hate to say it now, but it's all (about) experience"

next scene: jason day, playing his first masters, makes a birdie putt to tie for the lead.

    gold, sir nick. gold.

    ReplyDelete
  82. christ, rory. sack up and stop acting like a little bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  83. i don't feel for him, ian. he looks like a petulant dipshit all of a sudden. at least dustin johnson didn't look like he wanted to cry when he gacked the us open.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I think Rory missed church today.

    ReplyDelete
  85. i can't remember a 5-way tie on the back 9 on sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  86. HOT HOT ADAM SCOTT!!
    Love him.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Scott in a great position here. Still have a hard time seeing him w the jacket. Tiger gave it away.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I think tiger hurt himself there.
Scott who I thought he was

    ReplyDelete
  89. 5 under on the front and even on the back...that's just fucked up

    ReplyDelete
  90. Really enlightening Tiger interview...

    ReplyDelete
  91. okay...maybe scott can wear the jacket.

    ReplyDelete
  92. kj still in this bitch though

    ReplyDelete
  93. crap. adam is getting nervous

    ReplyDelete
  94. i wonder if anyone has changed rory's diaper yet

    ReplyDelete
  95. KJ is the Korean Retief Goosen. So steady.

    ReplyDelete
  96. You could make a drinking game around how many times the camera inadvertantly catches Cabrera lighting up.

    ReplyDelete
  97. i haven't seen that...i thought he quit a year or two ago - temporary i guess - guy likes his heaters

    ReplyDelete
  98. jason day - nice catch brah!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Win or lose, Jason Day is doing alright.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'm stressed out and I'm just sitting on the couch.
Can't imagine how stressed Adam is now.

    ReplyDelete
  101. would not want that putt coming back....oh boy

    ReplyDelete
  102. Can we talk about how Charl Schwartzel looks like Rabbit from Supertroopers?

    ReplyDelete
  103. May the Schwartzel be with him.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Don't fuck with the Schwartzel.

    ReplyDelete
  105. That makes Angel Cabrera "Farva"

    ReplyDelete
  106. a good masters...could have been epic if tiger had done anything on back...

    ReplyDelete
  107. Jason Day and Adam Scott seem like nice brahs

    ReplyDelete
  108. Interviewing an Aussie is a 0.0 on the degree of difficulty.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Again, this man's name is Charl. Well done lad.

    ReplyDelete
  110. He just birdied the last four to win? Hot damn.

    ReplyDelete
  111. let's hope charl isn't another immelmann....let's see you again charl

    ReplyDelete
  112. dammit.
i wanted to see Adam in the green jacket.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Highlight of the Masters for me: Jason Day's wife. Hello there.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I like how Schwartzel commandeered Tiger's fistpump on the back 9.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Mark just got married a mere month ago, so according to Jim Nantz, you have a green jacket coming in six to nine months.
    /no correlation nantz

    ReplyDelete
  116. I wish Nantz will bust into Japanese right now...

    ReplyDelete
  117. Having just flipped to a Mariners game, it appears the Masters low amateur should take in a game at SafeCo. He'd feel comfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Despite the shitty name, I couldn't be more impressed with Charl Schwartzel. As clutch as a back nine final day major performance as Ive ever seen.

And hopefully, there's enough Jameson in Augusta to make Rory forget his back nine.

And again, well done Jason Day.

    ReplyDelete
  119. In South Africa they say "sorr Charl"

    ReplyDelete
