"In your life, have you seen anything like that."
While I'm not rooting for Eldrick this weekend, this is by far the best golf shot I've ever seen.

Dedicated to the premise that life would be better if we all took ourselves a little less seriously.
was he talking about the shot or the "high fives" bet tiger and stevie?
ReplyDeletenow i remember why i no longer watch or play golf. i nearly poked my eyes out in boredom waiting for that shot-- which was nice-- but they should have a 24 second clock.
ReplyDeletethe context makes the shot greater than the execution - sunday at the masters, woods up one with dimarco getting ready to putt for birdie from 15 feet. the shot gave him a two-shot lead, which he needed as he bogeyed 17 and 18 to fall into the playoff that he later won.
ReplyDeleteOne of the great unpaid advertisements of all time. The ball slows perfectly as it rolls to allow the camera to focus on the Nike Swoosh. Phil Knight is smart.
ReplyDelete4 1/2 innings of baseball in 2 1/2 hours. sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteCano. Good.
ReplyDeletesurprisingly, that ball is not in the possession of tigger or stevie...
ReplyDeletechirkinian apparently paid 1m/year from the day he "retired" 'til the day he died...
ReplyDeletebo van pelt - can't putt...which is too bad otherwise he'd be 2 off lead
predictions please?
ReplyDeleteis it me or have they not shown cabrera one time? that's f'd up....he's -5 on the day, 4th all alone, and a past winner...and likely winner tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteokay...since no response...i'll go out and say it's between k.j. and cabrera....with a gun to the head i'd say k.j.
ReplyDeletei like the young irishman tomorrow, danimal
ReplyDeletehard not to. rory good. plus he's the co-leader - that doesn't hurt.
ReplyDeletealthough if luke wears apple blossom colors again tomorrow, he's my guy.
ReplyDeletei think we'd b ra-tards if we didnt include tiger in the mix
ReplyDeletetiger's just a guy right now.
ReplyDeletei also like one of the masses at -3 to finish within 2 of the winner. too many of them for one not to make a run.
That 2nd shot at 15 was not by just a guy. Only bc it's Saturday does that shot go unnoticed. And of course bc he missed the putt....he's playing golf....if putts drop tomorrow....
ReplyDeleteDay's caddy wears 69 so he should win.
ReplyDeletethat shot was absurd, but he isn't making shit, and those shots have been few and far between.
ReplyDeleteI will become a big Day fan if he finishes in the top 5...
ReplyDelete3 mos ago I was a big Rory fan and then he started getting a wee bit cocky....even his compatriots McDowell and Westwood told him to shut the f up
ReplyDeleteLast time I played that hole I chipped it in for birdie and a match won.... :) what a dick.
ReplyDeleteWow....Rory could run away w dis
ReplyDeleteIf you're a basketball dork like me, check out your local Fox Sports channel for the Nike Hoop Summit. It's USA v. the World and it usually a highly competitive and entertaining event. Last year, it's where I first began to believe in Kyrie Irving and it also featured an epic duel between Enes Kanter and Jared Sullinger. It's also where Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol and Tony Parker first made their names.
ReplyDeletei advise those of you hurrying out to the netflix store to rent 'dinner for schmucks' to slow your roll. fabulous cast is wasted on a fairly formulaic plot.
ReplyDeleteI love rob's flow. You should rent black swan. Not a complex story but very well done and natalie portman is preposterously good.
ReplyDeleteAnd the pre-masters "river monsters" marathon is a brilliant ideal. I will spend the day watching others fish and golf.
ReplyDeletemy flow is preposterous
ReplyDeletenot a lot of scoring out there so far today. bodes well for the young irishman.
ReplyDeletetigger -2 after 3....just had a dirty mouth on #4.
ReplyDeletethe masters website is pretty impressive - did you know you can look at players' scorecards from the previous rounds, select a hole and actually watch video of the player on that hole? not all holes but many - pretty impressive.
mickelson doubles #5 and says bye bye to his remote chance.
ReplyDeleterory's getup would not go well with a green jacket...angel's only slightly better
ReplyDeletetigger bogeys 4.
2 year old said he wanted his momma to take him to pool this afternoon rather than his big daddy - love that kid.
ReplyDeleterory bogeys 1st! after a smashing drive and poor 2nd....
ReplyDelete2:55 PM: Tiger nails tee shot on par 3 and Rory shanks first shot on 2nd hole.
ReplyDeleteStart of Tiger's rally?
And as I type that, he nails the bird after Rory butchers shot 2 from the trap.
ReplyDeleteRory puking all over himself.....he can still par this tho....
ReplyDeleteMy act of production thus far today was showering.
ReplyDeleteOh my. Charl!
ReplyDeleteTiger needs this bird badly. There are a lot of bodies in front of him.
ReplyDeleteTigger hitting golf shots again today. If putts start dropping watch ur fingers.
ReplyDeleteHear me roar! How bout an eagle on 8?
ReplyDeleteIf Tiger wins, he should feign tears and pledge to donate the winnings to charity.
ReplyDeleteBy the way....major props to Rory for par on 2
ReplyDeleteThat's why the vets usually win this tourney....they remember the breaks vs putt where they think they know its going
ReplyDeleteTiger!
Nice cameo as co-leader for Charl. And Tiger pulls another magical shot out of his bag of tricks.
ReplyDeletei love watching cabrera stomp around
ReplyDeleteexcuse me while i go back and erase my earlier comments about tiger.
ReplyDeleteJust a Guy is 5 under after 8
ReplyDeleteThis feels like a major from 6 or 7 years ago. Tiger charging, no one else able to run much. It feels like he's going to win by 2.
ReplyDeleteSo Ronnie Wood is caddying for Rory?
ReplyDeleteRory now shitting pit seeds
ReplyDeleteSo Ronnie Wood is caddying for Rory?
ReplyDeleteWe have a long way to go. Rory will rebound. What's cool is that this could be one of if not the greatest Masters we'll ever see. It's possible.
ReplyDeleteWe have a long way to go. Rory will rebound. What's cool is that this could be one of if not the greatest Masters we'll ever see. It's possible.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't gonna go with scotch today, but the Tiger charge is making me re-think things.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit!
ReplyDeleteScotch was just poured.
ReplyDeleteA 31 on the front 9 at Augusta????
ReplyDeleteI feel compelled to join....going w jamesons tho
ReplyDeleteAm still liking Cabrera here too....guys a fucking grinder
ReplyDeletegoing to see the old 97s tonight - gonna have to catch the last 45 mins of this toonamint on the radio.
ReplyDeleteNaive question, Danimal, but the back nine is considered the easier of the two, right?
ReplyDeletedave rice goes from byu to unlv. cue jokes about his players' ability to pay for sex and not get suspended.
ReplyDeleteThe whole field is wilting. Except Cabrera, only b/c he has been looking chubby and sweaty all week.
ReplyDeleteYes...at least a shot if not 2 easier
ReplyDeleteActually went w the black bush(mills) for obvious reasons....
ReplyDeleteAHL
ReplyDeleteyou have jameson and bushmills in your house? hope you don't keep them close together.
ReplyDeleteYes. But again its Black Bushmills and it is gee oh oh dee good.
ReplyDeleteAnd lets not forget about Choyeeeeeee!
ReplyDeleteOne more par here big fella.....and its on like donkey Kong.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Tiger but I can't stop rooting for him here.
ReplyDeleteTiger is back to being a machine.
ReplyDeleteDammit.
I wanted my BF Adam Scott to have a chance today...
I think tigger just sealed his fate w bogey on 12 and that 2nd shot on 13
ReplyDeletenot a great stretch for just a guy
ReplyDeleteTiger is unfortunately done and we r back to normal programmimg
ReplyDeleteHot hot Adam Scott still in it. I just don't see him in there at the end.
ReplyDeleteHow bout a Rory 3-jack here?
Sorry. I just said "hot hot Adam Scott". Some wives I know refer to him as that.
ReplyDeleteEasy to say now but was going to say prior to drive on 10 , Rory bogeys 1-2 of next 3 holes....
Ho-lee shit
ReplyDeleteDanimal, that is his name. No need to apologize.
ReplyDeletedouble is more than likely for rory here. this thing's wide open.
ReplyDeleteTiger will probably beat rory, just not for the win....
ReplyDeletedid i say double? meant snowman.
ReplyDeleteHo-lee shit again.
ReplyDeleteRory just shat a potato.
Hot air balloon race?
ReplyDeleteTiger tiger woods y'all.
ReplyDeleteWe could have a 4 man playoff.....
ReplyDeleteTiger has to finish as his boy o'meara did years back.....birdie birdie birdie
ReplyDeleteScott's Caddie was on Norman's bag in 96....he persuaded Norman to lay up on 15....not too far from where Scott just was....interesting.
ReplyDeleteFaldo just fucking jinxed him
ReplyDeletefaldo: "you hate to say it now, but it's all (about) experience"
ReplyDeletenext scene: jason day, playing his first masters, makes a birdie putt to tie for the lead.
gold, sir nick. gold.
christ, rory. sack up and stop acting like a little bitch.
ReplyDeletei don't feel for him, ian. he looks like a petulant dipshit all of a sudden. at least dustin johnson didn't look like he wanted to cry when he gacked the us open.
ReplyDeleteI think Rory missed church today.
ReplyDeleteAlas poor rorick.
ReplyDeletei can't remember a 5-way tie on the back 9 on sunday.
ReplyDeleteHOT HOT ADAM SCOTT!!
ReplyDeleteLove him.
Scott in a great position here. Still have a hard time seeing him w the jacket. Tiger gave it away.
ReplyDeletethis is ab. surd.
ReplyDeleteI think tiger hurt himself there.
ReplyDeleteScott who I thought he was
5 under on the front and even on the back...that's just fucked up
ReplyDeleteReally enlightening Tiger interview...
ReplyDeleteMasters over.
ReplyDeleteokay...maybe scott can wear the jacket.
ReplyDeletekj still in this bitch though
ReplyDeletecrap. adam is getting nervous
ReplyDeletegetting good again....
ReplyDeletei wonder if anyone has changed rory's diaper yet
ReplyDeleteKJ is the Korean Retief Goosen. So steady.
ReplyDeleteYou could make a drinking game around how many times the camera inadvertantly catches Cabrera lighting up.
ReplyDeletei haven't seen that...i thought he quit a year or two ago - temporary i guess - guy likes his heaters
ReplyDeletethis is unreal.
ReplyDeletekj done. cabrera done.
ReplyDeleteYep, three man race now.
ReplyDeletejason day - nice catch brah!
ReplyDeleteWin or lose, Jason Day is doing alright.
ReplyDeleteI'm stressed out and I'm just sitting on the couch.
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine how stressed Adam is now.
would not want that putt coming back....oh boy
ReplyDeleteCan we talk about how Charl Schwartzel looks like Rabbit from Supertroopers?
ReplyDeleteCome on Charl.
ReplyDeleteMay the Schwartzel be with him.
ReplyDeleteDon't fuck with the Schwartzel.
ReplyDeleteThat makes Angel Cabrera "Farva"
ReplyDeletea good masters...could have been epic if tiger had done anything on back...
ReplyDeleteJason Day and Adam Scott seem like nice brahs
ReplyDeleteInterviewing an Aussie is a 0.0 on the degree of difficulty.
ReplyDeleteAgain, this man's name is Charl. Well done lad.
ReplyDeleteHe just birdied the last four to win? Hot damn.
ReplyDeletelet's hope charl isn't another immelmann....let's see you again charl
ReplyDeletedammit.
ReplyDeletei wanted to see Adam in the green jacket.
And nothing else.
ReplyDeleteHighlight of the Masters for me: Jason Day's wife. Hello there.
ReplyDeleteI like how Schwartzel commandeered Tiger's fistpump on the back 9.
ReplyDeleteMark just got married a mere month ago, so according to Jim Nantz, you have a green jacket coming in six to nine months.
ReplyDelete/no correlation nantz
I wish Nantz will bust into Japanese right now...
ReplyDeleteHaving just flipped to a Mariners game, it appears the Masters low amateur should take in a game at SafeCo. He'd feel comfortable.
ReplyDeleteDespite the shitty name, I couldn't be more impressed with Charl Schwartzel. As clutch as a back nine final day major performance as Ive ever seen.
ReplyDeleteAnd hopefully, there's enough Jameson in Augusta to make Rory forget his back nine.
And again, well done Jason Day.
In South Africa they say "sorr Charl"
ReplyDelete
