Bilas Comes in Peace

Anyone who tells you 1990's "I Come in Peace" was a Dolph Lundgren vehicle obviously didn't pay attention to the dynamic performance submitted by ex-Dookie and current ESPN analyst Jay Bilas**. Enjoy his work as alien cop Azeck - the fun starts at the 0:45 mark of the clip (or, since YouTube is messing with me, the -0:50 mark):

**G:TB realizes we're not breaking new ground here mentioning Jay's role in the movie. However, we're not sure people have actually seen him in action, and even though it's just a few seconds out of a trailer we thought it warranted viewing. It's a damn shame the loons on YouTube won't allow me to embed Jay's full dramatic scene.

tribe hosts loyola-chicago in the bracketbusters event. pretty mediocre opponent, 9-13 on the year with no good wins, though sporting a 3-game winning streak. this is one w&m should win, which means they'll dump it.

I don't know how you swung that, but very impressive young man.

Do you get the sense that whoever wrote that screenplay came up with the "I come in peace" / "You go in pieces" dramatic exchange first, then figured out the plot to support it afterwards?

As someone who has actually seen the entire movie...Yes. 100% Yes.

how does bilas get that role? what's that conversation like? i smell a follow-on post.

over/under on how long before espn uses that clip as part of a college gameday segment?

You would think they already pulled it out of their bag of tricks...but you never know. According to Wikipedia Jay was also in an episode of the White Shadow - that might be a little tougher for me to find.

yeah - he would have been about 14 or 15 when that 'shadow' episode aired.

Shaq to Phoenix? Really, that's gonna work?

Roger Clemens has a pair of brass ones, I'll tell you that...even OJ's shocked at his arrogance.
