T...G...I...F

And what a wonderful Friday it is. Just when the last day of the work week wants to bend you over and treat you like an extra on Oz, the Starbucks downstairs opens...and I mainline a venti coffee while listening to the Will Smith classic "Summertime". Wired? Yeah, I'd say that...anyhoo, this is really just a way to work in my favorite commercial of the last 12 months, the "Glen" Starbucks ad. As an added bonus this morning, GTB's favorite Chicago bond trader emailed us this video...I am speechless. Enjoy.

I failed to mention that I was waited on by a deaf girl this morning. Needless to say, the exchange of coffee for dollar bills was a bit longer and more awkward than usual.

If Will Smith plays in that Starbucks with any regularity then she's the luckiest girl who ever served a latte.

That one got me...

Wow. That video is a train wreck. I couldn't turn it off, even though I desperately wanted to. The scary masked guy kind of wigged me out, but I saw your jolt of caffeine this morning and I raised you two Percs, so my fear may be related to that.

Can you FedEx me some of those? Thanks, that would be super.

Whit...just admit it--it's liver failure...right?

Not this time, Biff. Not this time.

Actually, "Biff" is a good nickname for you, Geoff. Biff Burr, country club casual.

Yeah, I was playing squash with Biff Burr when Chad Charleston walked up and asked me about the tryst I had with Muffy McGavin at Vail. How gauche! He knew Biff took Muffy to Betsy Wallingford's debutante soiree last winter. Some people.

"Excuse me, SeƱor. You are a member of the club?

No, I'm not, I'm with the Underhills."

Well, you would say that, WHITNEY. It's funny, Reed, Slater, Carter, Rothchild, Trenholm, Tack, Dandridge, Clayton, Caldwell, Hewlett, Baird, Winthorp and I were just talking about this at the Metropolitan Club last night--that being the Wallingford's debutante detente. I saw Abbott and Morgan making out in the vestibule, and couldn't beleive how rude--especially since Kendall was standing right there.

Well, bygones... So, Whitney, you old so-and-so, you game for a chukker or two any time soon? Also, Colby, Sebastian and Brewster are still looking for a fourth up at Burning Tree this weekend--any interest?

This is a TERRIFIC read

Just another reason the Orioles are a fucking joke:

The Orioles likely will show interest in veteran right-hander Russ Ortiz once he becomes a free agent today.

R.I.P. Aaron Spelling...

Thank you for "Beverly Hills 90210", "Melrose Place, "Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island."

Shame on you for "7th Heaven" and "Summerland."

Whitney said...

Big "Melrose Place" fan, are ya, TJ? Speaks volumes.

T.J. said...

Yes old man, Melrose was quite the show...

This is a helluva list:

I had no idea Spelling produced "Starsky and Hutch" and "Hart to Hart." This guy was a machine.

(pouring out liquor) Yes he was TJ, yes he was...

And you wonder why Dirk couldn't bring the Mavs over the top in the finals...
