The Rugby World Cup starts today in Twickenham, England. At press time, the hosts lead Fiji, 18-8. Mr. KQ is somewhere at or near the event, so we hope he chimes in with some local color.
Tribe hanging in there early against UVA. ESPN3 has it.
My biggest concern w/ the Tribe this year is that the size of the numbers on the front of their jersey is way too small, relative to the size of the numbers on the back of their jersey. Looks weird.
Tribe just showed an enormous set of stones, going for it on 4th down from just inside midfield, then calling a shifty passing play resulting in a touchdown. I love their lack of fear for UVA.
On the flip side, I'm sad for DLC's highest profile client being in need of prepping his resume for a new gig.
Tribe game is a little bonkers. Flailed on a fourth down trick play at the one, stop UVa on three runs, then get a safety on a blocked punt. They'll still lose but it's a weird game.
The catch made by Michigan State's Burbridge continues to be overhyped. It was a nice catch yes. But one ESPN guy called it the best catch of the year and Mack Brown said it was one of the best he has ever seen. Whaaaa???? Am I missing something?
This Bama-Ole Miss game is a battle of some powerful linemen. Reminds me of the Bama-LSU games from 4-5 yrs ago. Hard to see Bama pull it out if its QB play doesn't improve.
an early morning controversy at the solheim cup read about on the twitter piqued my interest in an event that I'd otherwise not give one fuck about. and I'm glad i did! murica in the midst of an epic comeback against the Euros. epic comeback. now we just gotta finish it. come one girls!
also in america news, my daughter finished third in her age group this morning in a mile race, clocking in at a tidy 8:40. #dadbrag the girl that won the age group ran a 7:05. that's crazy for an 11 year-old.
You are looking live at Brighton England post USA match vs Samoa. Down the seaside for NZ v Argentina on a gorgeous day. Rugger central and life is good.
The good news is the Bills scored 32 points against the Pats for only the third time in 21 years. The bad news is they gave up 40 points for the first time since week 15 in 2012. Not at all how I thought this game would wind up.
british pm david cameron is alleged to have put his junk in a dead pig's mouth as part of a drunken college ritual. and people thought our elephant walk was debauchery.
I've heard great things about Finnishing schools.
ReplyDeleteI just learned that touch rugby is a real thing.

As a young teen, I learned that touching the rug is a real thing. Took me a while to actually do it, though.
ReplyDeletejapan beat south africa at the rwc. bet clarence predicted that.
ReplyDelete9:15 PM ET start time for Bama-Ole Miss kinda sucks. No way I'll make the end of that.

You can't make it to 12:30? Come on. I have faith in you.

Tribe up ten after an easy INT. We have the best-named kicker in Division I (Dorka).
ReplyDelete...and now a 3-pt lead. We need to stop the run.
Am guessing that nd has lost its 5th starter for the year.
ReplyDeleteTribe recovers onside kick to start third qtr.
ReplyDelete#stones
Leonard Fournette is singlehandedly destroying Auburn.
ReplyDeletewheels just fell off for the good guys
ReplyDeleteYou're rooting for Auburn?
ReplyDeleteDraft Kings and Fan Duel are spending billions in advertising dollars. Billions!
ReplyDeleteBut not as much as Game of War.
ReplyDeleteUh huh!
ReplyDeleteindeed, mark. it's breaking my heart to see auburn get dumptrucked.

ReplyDeleteIncidentally, if they can punch it in here, hold and score another TD within 6 minutes, the score would b e 36-35...

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Florida's going to lose to Kentucky tonight. Unfortunately being prepared for that outcome won't make dealing with it any easier.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone gave nd much of a chance today.
ReplyDeleteSome drama in Charlottesville. A lot of ties feeling a little tight right now.

ReplyDeleteTribe loss was a dagger. I blame Mayhugh's comment jinx from 6:41 PM.
ReplyDeleteLoss of Abdul-Saboor for a long time would make a playoff run difficult.
Kentucky's unis are snazzy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dan that it didn't seem like anybody was picking Notre Dame. That's why I didn't bet it when I (wrongly) thought Tech would roll.

ReplyDeleteGod hates Bama or He loves Ole Miss. Only explanation for that play. Sorry Rob.
ReplyDeleteThat was truly ridiculous. Not as ridiculous as how big and athletic Robert Nkemdiche is though.
ReplyDeleteNot sad about Bama getting housed though.
Derrick Henry can block too.

I don't think I could run an 8:40 let alone a 7:05.

ReplyDeleteAnd the Skins beat the Rams?!
Eagles look horrible. Their punter got destroyed.
ReplyDeleteSorry,..I was watching the Jags win one of their 4 games this season.

ReplyDeleteAs opposed to putting his junk in a war pig's mouth.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the headline I thought it was referencing Black Mirror. Nope.
