If you're going to listen to one episode of The Test, this should be the one. Stacey made a musical clip quiz, and to pass, not only do you have to identify songs and artists, but then you have to connect the answers to recognize an all-encompassing theme. The reason this is our best effort so far is because I get the answer and Cunningham doesn't. She requires an extra hint. Also, I steal her youth. And there is a new outro song and montage.
It's probably not that hard a puzzle-- especially if you know some pop-culture-- but I was still very proud of myself (and couldn't hide it). Cunningham was annoyed that she didn't get it (and also had trouble hiding it). To be fair, some of the songs were before her time . . . but I nailed a more recent one and she didn't (that's when I steal her youth).
This one is fast and fun. Play at home, and see if you get it before me. Or lie to me and say you got it, just to burst my bubble. Or lie to me and say you didn't get it, if you want to make me happy. Whatever floats your boat.

At Yanks-Orioles game w/ the 8 y/o, as sports weekend continues. He has gotten two batting practice balls so far. I have gotten zero in my entire life. We're gonna have to reset those expectations lower.
Have gotten more into country music each in my old age. Zach Brown singing Into the Mystic, live, is a keeper.
late last night at my sister in-law's lake house, after several too many beers and a papal election, one of the other dudes that was there (who happened to be sleeping with his wife in an adjacent bedroom) loudly and multiple times told me and my wife that he didn't mind if we kept him awake with the sounds of lovemaking. it wasn't creepy at all.
How awkward that he didn't know you are an incredibly quiet lover.
It's like getting a shot of novocaine at the dentist--a little pinch at first, then a little warmth, then you feel nothing and it all takes place in a matter of seconds.
I really enjoyed this episode of The Test:
- I am good at guessing music themes -- got it as soon as I heard "Rosanna." I listen to Les Coole's radio show, so I am well versed in themes. This was a great one.
- Clearly Dave has never watched "Yacht Rock." He should be bludgeoned.
- I thought for sure we would hear this song, but I liked the choices nonetheless.
Dave, we will need to see this.
did anyone stay up to watch svp's sportscenter debut last night?
I started reading "Porno" a few months ago (the Irvine Welsh novel in Clarence's link, not the books with naked ladies in them ... I started reading them a few decades ago) but put it down to read "Dreamland" at Dave's suggestion. Maybe I'll go back to Porno now.
Good to see Tribe football sneak into the top 25. Would be nice to see us stick to UVA on 9/19.
i knew clarence would get it quickly because of "rosanna." i never read "porno" but i liked the other irvine welsh books. any good?
trainspotting 2! tough to compete with the first one . . .
It wasn't good enough for me to have already gone back to it ... Skagboys was more engaging, if you're looking to read more about Renton and his crew.
ok, i like that crew . . .
if i was going to be a heroin addict, that's the crew i'd hang with.
i don't know who to root for. both of them are swinging for the rafters, pretty awesome to watch.
yeah. am actually watching tennis.
Is Drake there?
