Tribe Pride?

rob wanted the dong picture pushed down the page, and what better way to do that then check in on the latest happenings in Colonial Williamsburg fashion. It appears the ole alma mater held a t-shirt design contest...for a new library-themed shirt? Fo' realz?
Recent William & Mary graduate Cory Chapman created the winning design for a new t-shirt for Swem Library. Chapman’s design was chosen from among 33 submissions in the library’s t-shirt design contest. After receiving numerous requests from students for a Swem t-shirt, the library launched the contest in October. A group of staff, students and alumni judged the submissions, choosing five designs to put out for public vote. Over a two-week period 2,000 people voted in the online survey, with Chapman’s design coming out on top.
When the editorial staff was informed of this truly amazing contest, here were the replies:

Clarence:
"What percentage of American universities (a) have a school library t-shirt, (b) would have 33 entries in the contest, and (c) could garner 2000 votes to decide the winner?? 1%? .01%?"

zman:
"What is swem?  Never heard of it."
rob:
"What's wrong with a dedicated libraryite letting his freak flag fly? Bunch of elitists, you guys are."

Anyway, here is a picture of the winning shirt. It has a certainly Charlie Brown-esque quality to it, no?

Oh yeah. Day Six of Gheorghe-mas is right around the corner, folks...I know you're excited.

"After receiving numerous requests from students for a Swem t-shirt..."

This is what happens when you don't allow alcohol on campus.

The only other Librarynive ever heard of having its own t-shirt was the Late Night Library in Tallahassee. And that's a bar, not a library.

yeah, everyone in fla pretty much knows there are no libraries in tallahassee.

Dave and I spent some time in the library senior year. Well, at least one highly intoxicated afternoon when Dave was insistent that we try to "smash ourselves" with the automated moving bookshelves. It didn't work. Dave registered a complaint with the librarian, eloquently explaining that it was "bullshit."

Dave said...

i deny that i said "bullshit" in a library. that's classless.

and clarence is having a real "hamlet" moment with that conception story. gross.

I hope everybody gets to see the sartorial splendor of Walt Frazier this evening. I can't even describe it. Like some sort of Santa Fe/desert camo almagamation. Strong choice for the return of Jeremy Lin.

it is real and it's spectacular

Another edition of the classic Nikola Pekovic-Nikola Vucevic grudge match in full swing in Orlando tonight.

this poop-ass jets team has a non-zero chance of making the playoffs. how shitty must the other 10 teams be?

g:tb fave taylor heinicke of odu didn't win the heisman, but he was just awarded the walter payton award as the best player in division 1-aa. and walter payton was much cooler than john heisman.

Clicked on ESPN to see what was happening in the MNF game. 47 seconds left, Jets on the Tennessee 25 yard line, down 4. Alrighty!

First Play:

"1st and 10 at TEN 25: (Shotgun) M.Sanchez Aborted. N.Mangold FUMBLES at TEN 30, RECOVERED by TEN-Z.Brown at TEN 32. Z.Brown to TEN 32 for no gain (B.Powell)."

Can't quite envision what happened here, but you don't often see "Aborted" in descriptions of football plays. Well, maybe the Jets do.

So I believe I just hit rock bottom...I called the ESPN Fantasy Football Help Line. Amazingly, I immediately got a real human and he was a wealth of knowledge. The issue we are dealing with is a tie, down the second decimal, in a FFL semifinal game.
