Happy Friday the 13th

You might remember this Alice Cooper "hit" from 1986's Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. Or you might not. Either way, mid-80s Alice Cooper starring in an extremely cheesy video of a crap horror movie is good Friday afternoon entertainment.

  1. From the Wiki entry:

"This is the only film in the series that does not contain any onscreen nudity."

    Well that's just plain d-u-m.

  4. I would thoroughly enjoy the B.H. Kim Era (re: meltdown) in Baltimore...

The Orioles have had conversations with the Colorado Rockies about pitcher Byung Hyun Kim, but at this point, they have only lukewarm interest in the South Korean pitcher and only as a reliever. They also would want the Rockies to assume most of Kim's $2.5 million contract this season.

  9. The Alice Cooper Cocktail, a blend of Absolut Vodka, Wild Turkey and Crown Lager, is available in many Australian bars and is rapidly becoming well known throughout the world thanks to IRC subculture and the international comedy circuit. The drink, designed by Australian stand-up comedian Tristan Mestroni, gained its fame during a skit at the Hamilton Comedy Festival (2006) in which he compared the drink to Windex. He later warned the audience against attempting to clean windows with it because "it melts just about anything, including glass". An interview with Mestroni in The Sunday Telegraph during January of 2007 included mention of the drink; the comedian comments that he has always wanted to invent a famous beverage, and that the cocktail was a fitting tribute to Cooper - one of his favourite recording artists. The Alice Cooper cocktail can be found on the official cocktail list at several branches of The Mean Fiddler, numerous pubs throughout the nation and, most famously, at the Toucan Tango bar on Hamilton Island; this is the site of the cocktails inception. Two bars in the UK, The King's Head and Fourth Cross both serve the drink, and the cocktail is gradually gaining a grounding in the United States.

  17. i think mark is confusing age with maturity in whit's case.

  18. I have no idea what maturity is, so you may be right.

  19. One of the all-time immature guys taught me that jackasses like ourselves must always pronounce "mature" with the hard "t" (rhymes with manure, fittingly) in a super-snobbish manner to give it the necessary condescension. Condescending to mature people, it's perfect.

  20. OK, who had April 14 in the "Carl Pavano is a useless douche" pool:

Carl Pavano was scratched from his start Saturday because of tightness in his forearm.
