If you did pop art, sports, comic books or any combination of those things, you'll geek out on
Pop Fly Pop Shop. Words don't really do it justice, but the proprietors describe their wares as One Piece of Nostalgia at A Time for One Week at A Time. Pretty simple concept: they post one work at a time, and it stays online for week, never to return again.
Their stuff is generally baseball-themed, asking the visual question of what ballplayers might look like as comic book heroes. For example:
I'm kinda partial to this one:
And I wish I'd seen this one in time to get it for Whit and Marls:
The artists have posted about 70 works to date. Peruse them at your leisure while we wait for the end of Gheorghemas. Any day now.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Gheorghemas….
These are great.
Belated bravo to Zman for Monkeys part 2. I could read that shit all day, which is kinda what it took me but I'm a slow reader.
6N start tomorrow - Get some.
Kenny, who’s your rooting interest in Six Nations?
I still root for Wales. First 6N match I ever saw and they don’t have a hell of a lot else going for them on that country.
you have to ask that question of kenny o'thring?
true story. irish spring used to be called irish thring, but they decided the name wasn't marketable enough. and it smelled of stale guinness.
chiefly Scottish. : to press or push ahead in or as if in a throng.
I read that without my glasses and thought it was, "chiefly Scottish. : to press or push ahead in or as if in a thong."
juan confused the shit out of me for a minute, until i realized he was getting all etymological on us.
which gheorghies still need a premier league team to root for, by the way? marls, rootsy, and squeaky brought rooting interests with them so they don't get new ones. unless i get crazy and move onto the continent.
Mr. Truck?
Juan Carlos also walked by a storefront with a neon sign reading "POLISH: A NAIL SPA" and read it as "POLISH ANAL SPA" so his eyes have been playing butt-related tricks on him for years.

MON DA GREEN Father Abraham!
Juan Carlos is a worldly man who understands that the Poles care about rectal pampering.
I don’t really have an EPL team. I used to root for Arsenal because I loved Henry. I now root for Liverpool because I love Salah.
Watching this Kansas game, it occurs to me that while I have a lot of CFB must visits, I don’t have many for CBB. Phog Allen and Cameron are probably my only two. I would really like to see a game at The Palestra (looks at TJ and Rob) though.
Tribe took another beating. Shocking.
tobias has a nice cameo in station 11. i like those comic book covers!
rutgers with a big win! but not sure if they'll make the tournament
Mark - happy to guide a Palestra trip. My grandparents were Temple grads so I spent a bunch of time there and McGonagle Hall as a kid.
That’s a deal, Marls!
It looks like Fisk pooped his pants in that picture.
widespread allegations of judging improprieties at the cheer competition i’m blessedly almost done with this evening. allegations!
zdaughter (who will be eight in two and a half months) showed zmother-in-law how to play Wordle on zdaughter's iPad. She couldn't understand that you don't type random letters, it has to be a word. They eventually got today's word in five tries. zmother-in-law then tried Wordle on her iPhone and was really excited that she got the answer in two tries. She did not understand that it was the same word for everyone, no matter what device they use. I'm not sure she understands even now.
Not to be outdone, zstepfather was having a hard time with his monitor so I gave him an old one I had in zbasement. I showed him the one cable that plugs into the wall and the other that plugs into the back of the computer (I told him "plug this in where your current monitor is plugged in"). Predictably, he called me around 7 pm and I had to go over there to set it up. I can't get into all the details because if I do I will have a stroke, but one of the highlights includes the fact that he was trying to use zmother's wireless mouse without plugging the wireless mouse's dongle into his computer ... and the dongle was wrapped in a Kleenex and hidden under zmother's Chromebook which was in the original box it came in when I gave it to her three years ago, which was taped shut and stashed deep in a corner of the hall closet.
And I still can't get Fios even though the new townhouse development down the road has Verizon trucks wiring it up all week.
I'm really enjoying the "Z-stories brought to you by GTB" series.
Can't wait for the next post
