"What's Old is New Again" Filler
I picture rob discovering this last night, hunched over his phone, excitedly emailing it to me to post this morning. I'll pretend it is the first time I've ever seen it and share with you all, per the tiny dictator's instructions.

Carrie Fisher was laid to rest in a Prozac-shaped urn. G.O.A.T.
ReplyDeleteone of the great things about age-related amnesia is that everything is new and exciting.
ReplyDeleteSo Vermont is Jewish?
ReplyDeletebernie sanders was a clue
ReplyDeleteGo Dukes!
ReplyDeleteJMU looking good so far
Yes....looking good!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that rooting for JMU meant I could also root against Bo Pelini.
ReplyDeletesnowpocalypse in central jersey!
ReplyDeletepost-sledding star wars milieu d&d has been happening now at my house for 3+ hours. my kids and their friends are not afraid to seriously nerd it up . . .
ReplyDeletei'll never cease to be amazed at vegas' sheer audaciousness. it'll never be my kind of place, but it's amazing nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Vegas in very small doses due to that audaciousness. Not really my kind of place either but a fun weekend with the right people, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteRussell Wilson has a great arm. Never really gets mentioned how strong his arm is but it's huge. Just hit Baldwin on the opposite sideline about 40 yards down field on a flat footed throw.
ReplyDeleteBeefsteak dinner: Zman, Juan Carlos and I got after it, w/ Sammy the Bull in pursuit. Charities win, our wives lose.
ReplyDeleteI am so gassy.
ReplyDeletethis quote appears in a piece today in the baltimore sun about domonique foxworth: "One co-worker called Foxworth the "most insecure secure person" she knows"
ReplyDeletedo we know that 'co-worker'?
I would have said "the most self-aware confident person" I know
ReplyDeleteIt was a good piece on him--quite honest.
Surviving the blizzard that hit SE VA. Tito's has helped.
ReplyDeleteTemps in the 50s in Florida today. My child who's never been anywhere else thinks it's freezing and "might snow".
ReplyDeleteMatt Moore might be dead.
ReplyDeleteHe's moving.
ReplyDeleteHe's in the game?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it, either, Z. Unreal.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Antonio Brown still returning punts at this point in the game?
ReplyDeletegiants look good!
ReplyDeleteGreen Bay's offense would consist entirely of Hail Marys if I was the coach. Rodgers always converts on them.
ReplyDeleteRodgers put on a master class in quarterbacking during the last 5 minutes of the first half. He's so fucking good.
ReplyDeleteRodgers. Damn.
ReplyDeletethat's exactly what my wife said, zman. she was like, "why don't they do that every time?"
ReplyDeletei am very sad. i was hoping for a big MLK weekend no school on monday giants/dallas outing.
Donald Glover just thanked Migos for making 'Bad and Boujie' during his Golden Glode acceptance speech. That's the best speech of the night just based on that.
ReplyDeleteU2 launching Joshua Tree anniversary tour where they will play the album in its entirety during each show. June 20 at FedEx Field.
ReplyDeletesaw that - gonna see what i can do to get to that show.
ReplyDeleteTickets conveniently go on sale tomorrow AM while I en route to San Antonio. Plus side, first time in that city and heard good things. Downside, no direct flights from Boston.
ReplyDeleteRemember the Alamo, Squeak.
ReplyDeleteI've been on Clemson since the CFB playoff was announced. However, it feels like everyone has started leaning toward them since the seminfinals. Gives me pause. I will still take Clemson but I feel much less confident about it.
ReplyDeleteI caught an airborne virus in San Antonio a decade ago. Was a horrendous 48 hours, and wife is still convinced it was a regular hangover. Butt have fun!
ReplyDeleteI'll wait five more years for the Achtung Baby tour.
Mark, you got the Tiger ATS or straight up?
ReplyDeletemy meeting ran late and i didn't get my clemson money line bet down.
ReplyDeleteBo Scarbrough fell to third on the depth chart at Bama midway through the season. Now he's the second coming of Derrick Henry. Even Bama's underachievers become monsters eventually.
ReplyDeleteWhit- I would've gone Clemson straight up before the public sentiment changed. Today I would've hesitantly taken the Tigers and the points.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't appear that Clemson can block Bama. And Bama knows it.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile in NY, Derrick Rose didn't show up for the Knicks game and hasn't been in contact with the Knicks. Possibly (not) coincidentally, he was benched for the 4th quarter of their last game.
ReplyDeleteNo relation to Chuck Scarborough.
ReplyDeleteI despise space plays (option, bubble screen, tunnel screen, etc) run toward the boundary. There's no space to run the "space play". Why?
ReplyDeleteClemson going 4 and 5 wide more has changed the tenor of this game. Bout time.
ReplyDeleteRight after I typed my last comment, Bama blitzed LBs twice in a row resulting in a sack and near decapitation on consecutive plays.
ReplyDeleteClemson will so take being down 7 at half.
ReplyDeleteDesmond Howard is morphing into Perd Hapley.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcszyb5d7nA
Agreed, Whit. Didn't do much but they're still in that. Avoided giving a big turnover or special teams score. Not a terrible spot to be win.
ReplyDeleteSo much for avoiding the big turnover. I'm the mush tonight.
ReplyDeleteTR--don't pick on Dez--he supplies ALL of the charm for College Game Day.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan

I love that Hunter Renfrow, of all people, is the one guy on Clemson that Bama's D has no answer for.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Jalen Hurts has 49 yards passing. Been telling y'all about this Bama offense.
There have been some world class hits in this game. Much to the excitement of the fans and chagrin of those worried about the future of organized football.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think Clemson would be aware of OJ Howard at this point.
ReplyDeleteClemson and Bama play some damn entertaining football games.
ReplyDeleteIs Rob asleep?
ReplyDeleteHoly smoke.
ReplyDeleteHell of a response by Bama.
ReplyDeleteHoly wow
ReplyDeleteThat was fun.
ReplyDeleteTruly
ReplyDeleteHi Gheorghies. Awesome game.
ReplyDeleteThe national championship trophy is ugly as shit.
ReplyDeletethat was a hell of a football game. deshaun watson will get a fuckton of praise, and he'll still be underrated. and i'm a bit chagrined about not getting that bet down.
ReplyDeleteDid I miss anything after going to bed at halftime?
ReplyDeleteMike Williams was awesome in the second half. Won all the 50/50 balls that Watson threw his way.
ReplyDeleteDabo's clock management was horrendous on that last drive. Worked out perfectly but the time they wasted on those last three plays could have cost them bigly.
ReplyDeleteOn a related note, I'm headed to church today because if Dabo is able to win a National Championship, there must be a higher power at work.
I too went to bed at half and watched the 2nd half this a.m.
ReplyDeleteYou may have heard this stat pre-game last night or maybe you already knew it. Alabama would have gone 6-8 had their offense scored zero points in the regular season. That is how dominant that defense was. That said, if most of the other top 20 programs had Hurts as the QB, they likely aren't top 20. His passing game will undoubtedly improve (has to right?) next year and thereafter.
Props to Dabo and Clemson. Roll damn Ti....gers.
And on Mike Williams...Clemson nation can thank the NCAA for not having a real concussion protocol in place otherwise he's gone after that hit he took in Q1.
ReplyDeleteso every few years there has to be an excellent cfb wr named mike williams? that's the rule?
ReplyDeletesomeone let Greg know:
ReplyDeleteFormer Foreigner vocalist Lou Gramm has confirmed he will make a guest appearance on Foreigner’s upcoming 40th anniversary tour.
Has Greg been Waiting for a Guy Like Lou? Does Lou make him Hot Blooded?
ReplyDeleteI know - that's Cold as Ice. I'll show myself out.
i think Rootsy might have a fever of one hundred and three
ReplyDeleteI dunno Teej, you'll have to check it and see.
ReplyDeleteThat was yesterday. He saw a soul doctor and now he's back to being a dirty white boy again.
ReplyDeleteEnough with the head games.
ReplyDeletePatton Oswalt at the Warner Theater March 3. He had a worse 2016 than most. Glad to see he's still performing. I'd like to see this show.
screwed up my clemson bet, but i just got wvu to win it all at 40-1. i think that's solid value.
ReplyDeleteHeard Hot Blooded on way to lunch then opened this up. And now listening to Top 10 most underrated songs by Foreigner, led by Night Life. Fuck yeah. Not a bird, not a plane, just a mean old night owl!
ReplyDeleteTed Cruz is a weenie
ReplyDeleteWhit - you may know this but the Warner theatre seating is not very comfortable for individuals over 6 feet/200 pounds. Probably worth it for PO though. I saw Bob Saget there, and I can't get that time back.
ReplyDeleteRob you taking on investors in that WVU action? If so I'm in.
ReplyDelete
