It Is a Far, Far Better Butt-kicking I Give

Cunningam quizzes us on famous opening lines of novels this week on The Test.  Bonuses include Stacey's ukulele aspirations and a very special guest.

I also reminisce about a related sitcom episode which many Gheorghies will remember. And I slip two clips of this episode into the show. Perhaps this is an abuse of my power as audio editor . . . but why be audio editor unless you're going to abuse the power?

  1. The Dickens line you bastardize is a last line, not an opening line. But I guess I should listen to the podcast and you'll explain.

  5. Has anyone, Danimal, been to Kiawah Island? Long story short, my wife told a friend I had been there and could provide some insight into where to stay and play golf. I any help would be appreciated. I know about the golf but I'd imagine accommodations might have some options.

  7. Aah Kiawah. Have spent much much time there. Accommodations....the Sanctuary which is a swank hotel on the beach. Top notch. Bring your pocketbook. The resort also rents condos and villas if you'd like to go down that route. They are pretty decent....but be sure if you reserve one that you get one that has been renovated in the past 5 years or so. The last option is to find a house rental. Also quite expensive. Love me some Kiawah/Charleston.

  12. Nashville and Memphis are at the top of the list of US cities I have yet to visit. So I kinda hate you right now, Danimal.

I think the other big cities on my wish list are Taos, Athens and Acadia State Park in Maine. And anywhere in Guam, obviously.
