"This is a story about a man, and how he achieved his dream — by doing nothing."
So begins the story of Madison Rowley, the owner of the World Champion Beard of 2014. It also serves as a statement of aspiration that Gheorghies the world over are embracing today. I shall commence doing nothing...as soon as I work up the energy.

your w&m tribe are 10.5 home favorites against the dukes of james madison university this afternoon. that's a stunning line to me. i think the tribe are more talented, and stinging from a bad loss at elon on thursday, but 10.5 is a lot of points. take 'em and take the dukes.
ReplyDeletefor the record, i'm 1-2 in tribe prognostication thus far, and the wrens are 2-1 ats. i'll be watching my daughter's chorus concert during the game, so marls, you're our only hope.
Getting ready to go coach our first flag football game of season/career/life. Updates at 11.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a photo of TR and his beard.
ReplyDeleteThe Action Bronson pandora station is so damn good. I listened to it for 3 hours today and didn't skip a single song.
ReplyDeleteI'm writing an AB post in my head. zin-laws are here (huzzah.) so it's only in my head for the foreseeable future.
ReplyDeleteI'm growing a beard. 2 weeks in. Abe-related and ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteAlso, our friend's parents just dropped off a big jar of homemade Tennessee peach shine they got from said friends in Knoxville. Will sample this evening. Giddy.
And it's me you're waiting for, not Clarence. In due time.
Boswell's column about the Washington football team today is a good one:
ReplyDeleteIf McCloughan has similar success, it will require that someone solve an addiction problem. That person is Snyder. He’s addicted to NFL instant gratification. That charming enthusiasm can turn into childlike rage. An expensive toy — free agent, coach or GM — gets tossed away. Can the owner curb his fickle impulses?

the knicks, man. damn.
ReplyDeleteThey're beyond embarrassing. Down 45 after 3 quarters to a below average Hornet team. That's pretty astonishing. Even for them.
ReplyDeletewait. are we witnessing the return of whitney? i thought the man killed that guy.
ReplyDeleteDo yourself a favor and type in Mudhoney on the ol' Pandora machine.
ReplyDeleteOn a similar note, I vow to give Action Bronson a go today, even though I initially thought it was some kind of Charles Bronson figurine.
Start with Dr. Lecter.
ReplyDeleteBronson sound I intially slept on that I play all time time now: The Rockers. Dope beat.
ReplyDeleteFlacco is good at this playoff stuff.
I think Wilfork got even bigger.
ReplyDeleteThe guy assigned with blocking Wilfork for much of the game today, John Urschel, is a published mathematician.
ReplyDeleteHe's much better at life than me.
But does he own pitbulls?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point, Z. I doubt it. Point for me.
ReplyDeleteRoger Goodell is fucking shameless. http://30fram.es/1y1wE89
ReplyDeleteHuh. I thought the Mueller report segment was a bit stilted.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else doing a night at the museum w/ 200 Cub Scouts instead of watching football? Just me?
ReplyDeleteThe 3rd installment of the Rob Lowe commercials should have been a Content Rob Lowe.
ReplyDeleteEdelman and Amendola are twins.
ReplyDeleteMeathead Rob Lowe seems like he's doing pretty well for himself.
ReplyDeleteSo the game is boring, right? I'm not missing any fun?
ReplyDeleteOn the flip side, I just saw Dumb Dumb.
i'm at the warner theater watching beauty and the beast, tr. i feel you.
ReplyDeleteI hope you DVR'ed the game and avoid all radio and TV on the way home. It's been very competitive.
ReplyDeleteYou know this is the best weekend of NFL football, right? Who schedules scouting events and plays for this weekend?
ReplyDeletethe gays
ReplyDeleteKate Upton is way overrated.
ReplyDeleteWhat a game!!!!
Rudy Gay or Ben Gay?
ReplyDeleteI just yelled out loud at my TV. Great game.
ReplyDeleteBtw...we lost our game today 34-20. Game over here too. Disappointing. Would have liked to see the east coast team with annoying accented fans win. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteGisele Bundchen just streaked the field.
ReplyDeleteScoutmasters, Zman. They're the kinds of guys that don't watch the Super Bowl.
ReplyDeleteThat was a hell of a game. If feel bad for Rob and TR if I was a nice guy. You all know better than that.
ReplyDeleteKate Upton grew up around here but I have to agree with Dan.
I smoked wings today. Half with my usual rub and the other half lemon pepper rub. Both came out great. I'm very full right now.
Kim Chancellor is not of this world.
ReplyDeleteThe Bills could use a back like Marshawn Lynch.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Bucs could use a defensive lineman like Michael Bennett.
ReplyDeleteI saw the full preview for Jupiter Ascending and it might be the stupidest thing I've seen since GW Bush's last state of the Union address.
ReplyDeleteFirs triple double in W&M school history tonight by some dude named Tarpey tonight. That's what the Twitter machine told me.
ReplyDeleteRex Ryan is the next head coach of our beloved Buffalo Bills. I'm enthused. Tremendously. Now all they need is a QB, an RB, some O line help, and an OC.
ReplyDeleteWell… round about every blog posts online don’t have much originality as I found on yours.. Just keep updating much useful information so that reader like me would come back over and over again...
