Starland Vocal Band?! They suck!!

Chic, Jett, Reed, Smiths, Withers. That Lou Reed isn't already in the HoF is a testament to his dooshitude.

When is Sheriff going to be nominated???

Daphne, a girl I went to HS with, lived with her family in a house in McLean that was previously occupied by Starland Vocal Band. Her parents were always out of town which produced many raging parties. Sadly, there was never any afternoon delight with Daphne. That I can recall.

Adrian Peterson is a moron, a barrister's nightmare.

I remain confused by these Bruce Lee Mazda ads. What's the link between Bruce Lee and a CX-7?

Happy Birthday to Mark. May you stay out reveling later than our tiny dictator who is three hours behind.

hello ghoerghies . . . i love kraftwerk.

Clarence didn't assign those haphazardly, Dave. It was with "German efficiency" like they have in Germany. And Amsterdam.

Green Day, NiN, NWA, Reed. No others.

Sorry Bill Withers. I like Use Me as much as anybody, but you need depth and girth to succeed. At least that's what my wife tells me.

No love for the Butterfield Blues Band here, eh? Those cats were hot.

I'll take PBB, The Marvelettes, Withers, and War, if only because I like kind of like their method of recording endless jams, picking out the good parts, and turning them into memorable songs.

It just seems too soon for some of the others.

no, junior mArvin:

I feel like putting NWA in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would negate everything they were about.

Clarence said...

That's good. Because Junior Murvin, it turns out, is dead.

Clarence said...

Rootsy, I'll confess to only knowing the PBB through The Last Waltz. Enjoyed it. And since Dennis never comes around here, I'll assign you to them.

Mark said...

Clarence- thanks for the birthday wishes.

Fuck the rest of you savages.

Was supposed to go to Gainesville for the Florida-LSU game this weekend. It turned out my wife's company was having an awards ceremony in West Palm on Saturday night. Being the understanding husband I am I cancelled Gainesville.

So we're staying at PGA National in West Palm Beach this weekend. Not too bad.

Happy bday Mark!
I've been in SEC country all week....there's a big game in town tomorrow. These people are WAY serious about their football...I had no idea it was this intense...

Mark said...

Shlara- where are you?

It's different down here. Hard to describe unless you've experienced it. We'd be happy to host you at The Swamp. You can wear a Bradley Beal jersey.

Speaking of college football country, I am in Dallas w/ the family this w/e. The Red River Shootout is going on, and there are Okies galore. And it's not even the biggest game in the state. Waco gets that honor.
