rob's in London!

I am still trapped in Orlando for a miserable work conference, but I noticed from a tweet this morning that our diminutive founder has completed his travel across the pond. He sent me this pic just after landing...

Is that his money clip in his hands?

rob...celebrate your recent victories this evening...get yourself a glass of Midleton pre or post dinner tonight or tomorrow. put in on my tab. and if that is not possible, spend the money at the duty free in heathrow and get a bottle. it's pricey but it'll last ya.

Since it's slow day, I'll throw out this music question: Which acts on the list below have NOT had a #1 single in the UK?

Eric Clapton
Bob Dylan
Bruce Springsteen
Genesis
Radiohead
REM
The Cure
AC/DC
James Brown
Bon Jovi
Depeche Mode
Janet Jackson

Dylan, AC/DC, James Brown, Ms. Jackson (cuz I'm nasty)

Danimal said...

My guess is just Bruce.

Anyone else??

None of those acts have every had a #1 single in the UK.

Never would have guessed that for that list.

bunch of wankers.

over/under on when rob passed out this evening? i'll say 7:00 his time unless he had hob-knobbing to do, at which i'd guess he's holding his eyelids open with his tiny little paws.

why is rob in london?

TR said...

Why is anybody anywhere? I'm celebrating my birthday by having a beer at a Chili's at Bush Airport in Houston before I fly home. With a layover. Good times.

They didn't have an orange for my Blue Moon, but there's no charge for all the sadness you want to soak up. And there's TONS of it here.

Is the waitress practicing politics, as the businessmen slowly get stoned?

zman said...

Was rob's marathon in Merry Olde? If so, they whole "bloody nipples" thing takes on a different dimension.

TR said...

The waitress was practicing obesity, while the businessmen slowly got drunk on nachos.

Watching my first Tribe basketball game of the year on the telly. (Like rob, telly is short for television in England.) W&M down 11 to Liberty in the first half. Feels like home.

Clarence said...

Tribe down 38-23 at half. To Liberty. "The largest Christian university in the world." The TV ad for Liberty boasts "world-class speakers" as they show a clip of Donald Trump at the podium. Honestly, people.

Clarence said...

Oh, yeah -- happy birthday, TR. Good luck getting out of Texas.

Mark said...

Happy birthday, TR. if I ever meet you, first drink's on me.

Thanks dudes. My night has been fun in a pathetic way. Drowning my sorrows in a bag of peppered jerky while watching bad MNF at an airport bar cranking Kiss. I have a big stain on my shirt b/c my fat face dropped some chewed up Pringles out when I tried to stuff more into my face too quickly.

I am not an adultery threat right now.

Clarence said...

For those that care, the Tribe came back and beat Liberty, 71-59. An unbelievable result, speaking of the university that teaches creationism.

for the ruggers in our audience, the inn at which i'm staying has a little shrine to several lions tours of south africa in the late 80s. i'm efforting an explanation.

that's a game the tribe loses handily last year. brandon britt with 21. freshman terry tarpey with 14.
