Restaurant Review, Vol. 2

Once again, our eagle-eyed fans have come through for G:TB, traveling the world (or in this case, having their friends travel the world) to find amusing dining/drinking establishments for us to chuckle over from the comfort of our prison cells/offices. We've taken some liberties with this one, as the original image (courtesy of KQ) was captured on a Facebook page and I couldn't figure out how to save it to my hard drive.

But this gets to the essence. Let it never be said that our correspondents don't know our audience.

Did the Rapture occur after all and take all of our readers?

I would expect our readers to get left behind.

rick santorum is going to run for president. can't wait!

for fun, google 'santorum' and learn what happens when a public figure earns the ire of a community. but don't do it at work.

If you're going to blow $500k on jewelry, shouldn't you step your game up a notch to something like Cartier?

I hear that Santorum is an important component in the success of Mark "Dirty" Sanchez, which is surprising given that the Jets aren't a PA team.

Florida played Stanford for the NCAA Womens tennis title last night. This was a rematch of last year's final and played at Stanford (where the Cardinal had a 184 match winning streak). Florida came back from down 3-1 to tie it up at 3-3 going into the final match.

Florida's #2 seed then quickly got down 4-0 in the final set only to win the next 5 games. Eventually the final set was tied at 6-6 and went to a tiebreak. I can't adequately describe how many momentum shifts there were in the final set. Anyway, it was unbelievably entertaining and Florida won their 5th national title after winning the final set tiebreak 8-6. Sports, even sports we usually don't care about, are awesome sometimes.

Everyone should care about women's tennis.

Collegiate Women's tennis?

zman said...

If the collegiate women are from UF, yes.

i am teaching my kids to play tennis. unlike the match mark recounted, no one should watch or care about my boys playing tennis. it is really ugly.

Dave, you should read the Agassi autobiography. For some reason I can picture you as his dad.

because they're both hairy as shit, except on top of their heads?

Paul Splittorff died today. A sad story, but my first reaction was, "Did TR ever finish that baseball card segment?"

Squeaky said...

Hadn't thought about the hairy thing. Was thinking more along the lines of Dave being the taskmaster. Making his sons do endless soccer drills until they resent him. All because his teaching pension will not be enough to support the family (thanks to D. Christie) when he gets older. So he plans to live off his sons soccer salaries and endorsement money.

Or maybe that is my dream. Got to go. Time to get my son lifting weights.
