Nothing but the Dog in Me

There's an ongoing debate about the identity of the lone non-human member of the SEAL team that took out Osama bin Laden in Pakistan on Sunday. The American Belgian Malinois Club is sure that one of their own join the bipedal badasses in executing the mission, while the German Shepard Dog Club of America is equally confident that "the most versatile dog on the planet" participated in the raid.

While either of those noble breeds (confession: before reading this, I had no idea that the Malinois even existed) are qualified for the job, it's really not hard to understand why military leadership chose to go a different route:
