Report Card Time – One Worth Noting

I suppose it' s about time I started posting again. COVID knocked me out for the first chunk of 2021, but frankly, upon review, I had limped to the finish of 2020. I totaled three posts in November and December, a meager end to a good year for my output. Here's to climbing back on that horse for this year.

Speaking of good years for output... wow! Nice work, team. Sincerely. We mentioned 258 posts for 2020, but that includes a number of stalwart individual efforts. An upside of lockdown, if you will.

Our tiny dictator was responsible for 57% of all of 2019's G:TB posts. In 2020, that number fell to 38%, in small part because he produced 12 fewer posts, in larger part because of the group effort.  TR, Zman, OBX Dave, and I all had career highs. Mark returned to the fold for a singular, highly worthy Gmas post. Shlara, Rob's daughter, Rootsy, and Juan Carlos added guesties. And rob rolled on, cranking out double-digits' worth of offerings four times and remaining the steady engine behind Gheorghe.

Have a look-see:

I’m already tired of Inauguration Day coverage. Surprised Trump didn’t throw more crazy at us with the pardons.

Who has "China virus" in Trump's departure speech Bingo?

Marls had only two things to say in 2020? Really? The Marls I used to know was full of opinions and witticisms, most of them pointed and contrarian, sometimes grumpy, but always entertaining.

Hey Whit, point of parliamentary procedure: Do Gheorghemas posts count toward post-count?

Need to boost my count and resume' when I ask rob for a raise.

School until June and then making up for lost dad time accounted for my subpar production in 2020. Given all that was going on I appreciate all the hard work put in by the rest of the editorial staff. That said, I am ready to up the ante again. More grumpy contrarianism to come!

Call me sappy, but I'm digging the pomp and circumstance right now. Easier to appreciate now that the malignant tumor who invaded our democracy has been excised.

Dave, yes, I missed one there for you. Sorry! I will say that probably missed another since many were under Rob’s name.

And I agree with TR. Breath of fresh air today.

Whit, no worries. I think my total was actually in the 15-16 range, but didn't register as such for the reason you mentioned.

And I third your and TR's sentiments on the day. Fundamental decency and eloquence are refreshing. And Amanda Gorman = Baller.

The bar for improvement is absurdly low, but isn't it refreshing to have an elected leader who isn't consumed with personal grievances, tv ratings, and projecting strength to ignorant people?

...like boasting about the size of your inauguration crowd? Remember that jackassery? How anyone accepted that as a normal, adult, fucking leader of the free world thing to do is unfathomable.

i believe i've told you guys that trace mcsorley, the ravens' backup qb, recently bought a house in my neighborhood. he and his wife just moved in this week, now that the ravens' season is over. coincidentally (maybe?) the guy that lives across the street from him just started flying a bills flag. that's either magnificently petty or hilariously clueless.

and to whit's point, daniel dale's book about the scope of trump's fuckery will be amaaaazing.

I’m still quite skeptical that the intentionally divided life we’ve all experienced over the past four years will change much, but someone who cares more about the country than the size of their rallys or their number of their Twitter followers is a start.

I’m not drinking much this January but I’m having a few tonight.

Why is a 3rd string QB under 25 buying a house?

tr, he and his wife are both from the town i live in, and i assume they bought the house to be close to family in the offseason. but i'll ask when i meet him.

He has no college debt. Has probably banked some decent booster money and even average NFL money is good money, TR.

And my carnivore friend says mortgage rates are really low right now.

And real estate has only been a bad investment a couple of brief times in our adult life.
